Don't play the crappy songs?
X2 is really great, and X isn't all that terrible either after a few plays (holy s**t it has Polyrhythm why did they not translate that properly I never would have hated this game if I knew that sooner).
Talking about arcade versions by the way. <********> the console versions.

I got dance factory but unless you go through and make up your own dances....the one's they randomize are way too easy.

The new DDR for the ps3 doesn't allow you to edit songs... and club mode plays really bad songs. I had to play it just to unlock everything.

What are you talking about? X2 is probably the best one out there! Don't play the crappy songs. Go to Japan if you don't want to see the new popular songs.
Plus the new boss songs plus other songs are pretty damn cool! biggrin

From DDR 1st to Extreme (8 arcade versions), the same team made the game. After Extreme, there wasn't another arcade mix made until Konami made Supernova (as an excuse to sue Roxor for rights to the ITG name, but that's another discussion) and it was very very sub-par in terms of quality probably largely because it was a mostly if not all-new team making the game, it basically slapped together. Tons of songs were off-sync, the steps were mediocre at best - of all of the good players I know from before Supernova, none of them got back into the game because of it or any of the mixes since it came out.
I haven't liked anything I've tried on the arcade in terms of step quality since Extreme; though I only play heavy, (or whatever they call it now) so I can't really comment on basic, standard, etc.
