Not trying to freak anybody out but it is an important topic for discussion. Attacks are rare but they can happen. That doesn't mean you need to lead your life being afraid of the unknown. Chances are the spirit or ghost is not even really trying to hurt you, they may just want your attention and any physical action is the only way they can do it.
In the event of anything physical, first and foremost remain calm and pray if you feel it is necessary. Slowly remove yourself from the area. Don't provoke it, just leave. Afterwards, think about what happened and determine what the next action should be, pray if you need to, see your local clergy, talk to others that have had an attack. Whatever you feel is necessary.
Has anyone here ever had an attack? What happened? What did you do?

About a year ago I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep. I wasn't that tired but had to get up early. All of a sudden I can't breath. It felt like a pressure on my chest, just kinda like a firm consistancy. A couple seconds later it went away and I look to my left and see the outline of a person. I did not keep a level head and kinda freaked out. I got out of bed on the right side, grabbed a bottle of lavender oil my friend gave me, and smeared some on the wall by where the shadow was(when I had turned back around from getting the lavender it was gone). I also wore my eye of horus necklace for the rest of the night and slept in the living room.

Something similiar happened to be once, and yes I also freaked out at that time. I didn't feel the pressure on the chest but I was laying in bed and I felt something starting to crawl on top of me. I remember kicking at and I was almost ready to scream and it went away.

I thought of this topic last night while I was at work because I had to walk through a place on campus that I hate walking through at night. Actually, I don't really like it during the day either. I felt my left wrist start burning and then I heard a sound that sounded like the swooshing of long skirts. It startled me but I just walked through the building and then about twenty minutes later I looked down and had scratch marks on my wrist. There is one scratch that is still visible today. I spent the rest of my night thinking now what the heck was that about? I tried to take a picture but the camera on my cell phone sucks.

I've gotten scratch marks before. Usually they're harmless and don't mean anything by it but one time a lesser demon was stalking my friend. Her teacher(wiccan) was the one that helped identify it was a demon. One way you can tell it's a demon we found out through was demons usually leave multiple parallel scratches. Regular spirits don't tend to have this ability, but if the parallel scratches appear more than once it's probably a demon.

Your encounter reminds me of one time when me and my friend were walking to her house, too. It was during the day in the middle of summer and we walked through a cold spot in the middle of the street. When we got to her house one of her brothers saw us come in and said, "What happened to your leg?" I looked down and I had a small cut just below my knee and there's a stream of blood down my leg. Creeped me out but

Where did she get her information on demons? I feel like it is something I should study more than I have so far. I have a list of a few demonologist that seem fairly knowledgable and lists of different types of demons but that is it. I have never heard of the a demon mark by where the scratches are, it's usually other factors such as the amount of pain it causes. The burning sensation for nearly twenty to thirty minutes afterwards could be a characteristic, but I honestly hate the idea of just jumping into the "it's something inhuman" frame of mind. In the past with spirits I have been bruised and had fingernail marks, but they tend to be very light, not deep in anyway and certainly not enough to draw blood. But all this talk has reminded me of a very important rule for paranormal investigating which is...trust your instincts. If something doesn't feel right then don't go in there.

It was her wiccan teacher who identified the demon for what it was. When concerning demons she just stuck with the main rule: try to find out their name. The parallel scratches were just something we noticed, but the burning is a factor too I've noticed. I agree completely on that last statement. Strength in numbers as well!

Well, I've had a couple attacks, if that's what you'd call them. I'll go with the main one. I was taking a shower at night and felt something brush up against the right side of my back. There was nothing that could have possibly accidentally touched me. When I got out of the shower I noticed that the right side of my back began to burn. I asked my mom to see if it was red and what there was was three claw scratches. Some people say that when there's a lot of negative energy around, it becomes projected and manifests into some sort of entity. Around that time, there was a lot of tension between my family. Seems to be a somewhat reasonable explanation.

Yes, I have heard of that explanation before.
