No one in my group of local friends really stands out, and the only person I'm interested in romantically at the moment doesn't have any interest in me beyond friendship, so I'm kind of at loose ends right now. I'm looking for a close friend, possibly more in the future, but I'm not just jumping into a relationship with someone I barely know. I'm really picky, so I can't even imagine the odds that someone I would be totally compatible is reading this, but I have to try. Read this, and if this sounds like you, reply. Or, if it doesn't or you didn't even read it, reply and we can be friends. XD
Girls are much preferred, though I might be able to get close to a guy, too, since I'm homoflexible. Age doesn't matter. First of all, you need to be very, very intelligent, and like to read. That doesn't mean that you need to be one of those totally intellectual, logical people. They're alright, but I'm looking for someone who's evenly balanced between mind and heart, between thinking and feeling. I'm looking for someone romantic, someone who falls in love easily and stays that way.
You also need to be confident enough to not always be putting yourself down, but humble, not cocky. You should be shy and kind of awkward in social situations. While you like to have more assured, loud people around to lead things, you are the stable support for others, the one who carries things out. If you're a bit of a tomboy (but in a cute way, not a butch way), that's cool. If you're spunky enough to argue with people but always end up saying sorry first, sweet. You also need to be mature, but that doesn't mean you can't be childish or silly or have fun. After all, you need to be interesting. Maybe you're not the one who comes up with crazy schemes, but you'll go along with them if someone else comes up with one.
A kind of odd metaphor- if people's personalities matched up with the hours on a clock, which 9 o'clock being the most agreeable and fun-loving, the 3 o'clock the most critical and more thought-focused, the 12 o'clock being the aggressive, flashy, and domineering leader, the 6 o'clock being the most dependable, consistent, warm, caring, and stable, and every other hour being a mix of the cardinal hours it falls between, what hour would you be? If the answer is 6 o'clock, please respond.
Have you ever watched xXxHolic? Watanuki is a pretty good example of the type of person who I get along with best. So, this was an incredbily random, specific post, but in the rare case that you not only don't think that I'm a complete lunatic by now, but also find that some of the things that I said describe you, and you're looking for a close/best friend, a confidant, and maybe more, I really hope you respond.

I only did that once with my friend Eli, but he's gay. -sigh- My thought process is like a runaway train spray painted purple and dressed in a tutu, so most people find it hard to understand the way I think and why I do the things I do. Going along with the clock metaphor, which I didn't come up with, I'm as 12 o'clock as they come. I'm fifteen, almost sixteen, but I've dated people older than me before. I don't want to be like the little teenager shouting about how she's oh-so-mature for her age, so I'll leave that up for you to decide, but in general, I get along better with adults than my fellow teenagers.
