Anthony Wicket was feeling anxious. So very anxious. The whole drive he hadn't said a word, to nervous to. He looked out the window, chewed his thumbnail until it bled and played with his hair. All of these were warning signs that he was probably a little more stressed out than he should be. But they were going to the clinic that could give them a baby; James and Tony were. Brows knitting together, Tony let his mismatched gaze flick over to James, who he knew to be just about as nervous as he was.
They might not have known each other very long, but Tony was confident he wanted James to be the parent of his children. And now this place could give him exactly what he wanted, despite everything he'd been told through out his life. The whole, 'you can't have kids because you're gay' or 'you'll make a bad parent because a baby needs a mother AND a father'. Well, screw that. He'd show them!
He sighed hard and rubbed his face. "Nervous?" He asked James, who was driving.

Jame had his eyes on the road, but his hands were gripped white-knuckle around the steering wheel, and he hadn't been saying a word for the entire trip. He didn't say a word even now... simply nodded and adjusted his grip on the wheel.
Mind, he wasn't trying to be mean or ignoring Tony. His mind was full of thoughts, and none of them were calming ones. What if he wasn't a good father? What if Tony was making a mistake by choosing him? What if the kid wound up a werewolf, like him? And what if... by some chance... something HAPPENED to the kid?
He'd feel terrible, and probably curl up into a fetal ball in his room and stay that way. But he couldn't THINK such thoughts right now - despite the fact that was exactly what he was doing. Negative thoughts produced negative fates... so he put those things out of his mind, and tried to concentrate on driving. Where WAS this place, anyway?

Seeing how he wasnt going to be getting a reply from James, the blond sighed and looked out the window. After twenty more minutes, he pointed at a building with the clinic name on it and shrugged. When he parked and they both got out, Tony took James' hand and tugged him in.
Signing in and getting put in a room, Tony sat on the bed there and bit on his lip, not looking at James at all. "....You're not.... Are you having second thoughts...?"

James almost jumped at Tony's voice, but he calmed himself. Hearing the actual words, though... he shook his head. "No - I'm not. I'm just worried about whether or not I can CARE for a child other than Corwin properly... I couldn't even take care of HIM when you met me..." he said.
Sitting in the waiting room, his own hand slid across to squeeze Tony's leg lightly. "I haven't changed my mind. I'm just.. considering the ramifications... that's all."
He sighed, and put his head in his hands. "I'm honestly... scared, Tony."

It was true. But he had turned into an amazing father with Tony's help. How could James even think this? He shrugged and moved over to the other, placing a kiss on his temple before getting back in his own seat. "You know, I picked you because you got to know me. Because I got to know you and I know that you're a good father. Besides, the kids won't be here for a while, you know? I mean.. I'll be pregnant. We can let you read parenting books." He sounded so matter of factly about it all, that, hopefully, James would calm down.
Besides, he pulled into a parking spot and smirked. "We're here anyway, James."

James sighed, and turned off the car, lying back in the seat for a moment, taking it all in. He supposed it wouldn't be as bad as all that - but he was still scared... still... Well...
Not scared, so much - nervous. Nervous and sort of shaky. His hands lifted and he watched them for a moment. Trembling all over the place. Why WAS he so nervous? Maybe... maybe it was just the fact that children... well... He DID have Corwin, so.... A soft sigh.
"Alright... I'm ready... As I'll ever be, anyway. Tony, do you really think I'll be a good parent for this child? Without the books, I mean...."

Tony nodded, walking around to James's side of the car and pulling him away. "Yes, Tony. I wouldn't have picked you if I wasn't sure of it. C'mon. Quit shaking like a chihuahua on a rainy day." He laughed at that and continued to pull the other man toward the building.
Once they signed in and everything, they were shown to a room, where Tony had to wear the special gown and everything. He had no problems getting naked; it was natural for him to do. He slept naked and often walked around his own house in nothing but his boxer briefs. Getting on the 'bed' there, he held his hands out for James. "Thank you for this. Seriously. Thank you so much."

Dr. Susan strolled from her office and towards the nurse's desk, there was a small stack of three files neatly put together. Grabbing the first one, she opened and look through it. Two males, a Anthony Wicket and James Rhys Reid. There was a picture of both of them, closing the file, she gave a nod to the nurse and went towards their room. Knocking on the door softly before entering, she gave both the men a smile and extended her hand to shake their hands in greeting. "Hell, I'm doctor Julianna, what can you do for today?" She sat down at the little bureau and grabbed a pen and fresh sheet of paper.

Tony had to blink when the doctor came in the room. Not who he was expecting to see, but it was a pleasant surprise. He spoke for James, and probably always would for this visit. "Hello, Dr. Julianna. We have an appointment.. for uhm.. the artificial uterus? I want to have a baby with James here. He doesn't speak much, but he's agreed to it. I'd really like it to be done with insemination if possible?" Tony wasn't sure what the hell he was saying exactly, just voicing what he and James had talked about previously. He played with his blond and pink hair absently. A nervous habit. "We heard that this was the place to go since.. you know.. we're both guys."

Julianna continued to listen to the one she assumed was Tony from the picture in the file. "Yes, you indeed have come to the right place! Our clinic offers parents who are unable to conceive the chance to have children. Some parents have genetic or other health problems that make it difficult to conceive or carry a child. And there are others--like yourself--that are incapable because of their gender, we like to help those who want children and whom can offer them a safe environment. Have you two figured out who was going to carry the child?" This was probably their first visit to the doctors. It was probably a lot for them to take in at first, so she decided to give them a moment; having children was a big step, and very nerve wreaking for some. "In any case, I'll take some DNA from both of you and make them compatible. Then,we'll give you another appointment for the artificial insemination with the artificial uterus. It should take over all one week for everything to get done."

Tony grinned at the doctor when she asked her question. "As a matter of fact, we do know. It'll be me." He wasn't exactly going to make the most beautiful mother in the world, but damn it, that's what he wanted. "James agreed that I would carry the children and birth him or her, them." His unmatching eyes twinkled as he spoke before he laughed and flushed. "I want to be 'momma'."
