I know this guild is all about matching avatars so everyone cares about matching.
The discussion topic I thought was: Are you very strict about your matching when making an avatar?
Do the eyes and lips have to match the rest? Must all the shades be the same? Is there a certain item you use even though it doesn't match the rest (just because you love it)?

If I go for a matching theme. I would be sorta strict, but I'm not always matching so... non-matching ftw. xD

I used to be a matching nazi. However, I became more lenient after we got makeup and a wider variety facial accessories.
Personally, I was still a fanatic when the jenny's blush was released. Since I'd waited years for an item like that, I added it to every outfit. That meant that I was adding pink items to all my outfits. I eventually convinced myself to not be so crazy. The jenny blush barely even shows up on my skin tone. :/ By the time the masquerade gave us blush, I didn't care if my green/blue/yellow avatar had cute rosy cheeks.
I now have a couple favorite facial item combos that I use all the time whether they match or not. Usually not.
However.... it always depends on the individual avatar. Sometimes the non-matchiness throws in just the right amount of character. Sometimes it detracts from the whole look. And if someone has a matching avatar sans theme, I still believe that all their shades should match. That's the goal, after all.
