1. The Protean Country Landscape
So the story starts off in the Protean sects: Eastern, Western, Northern, and Southern. The four are together considered to be the Protean country, Na'ghale (yeah, I know, it's a weird name, but for some reason it just kinda stuck with me). They're technically all next to each other like an x, separated only by various natural barriers that are many leagues apart. Mountains full of forest divide the North and West and the West and South; a system of rivers divide the South and East; a flat plain divides the North and East.
About the sects themselves. The North is a mountainous region which gets a lot of snow in the winter and therefore the coldest of the four. The East is situated in a forest, sort of like Haruna but without the natural architecture. The South is a giant plain full of fertile land, which is ideal for farmwork because of the network of rivers (think Nile floods Egypt). The West, as you guys would know if you've read the original Mythical Group RP, is a peninsula next to a whole bunch of forest with a large beach.
