Archery. Out of her little hat of things she could teach kids, she happened to choose archery. It always too an age and a half to set up everything on a whim and get the damned kids to even think of something. So, instead of waiting around and being bored, Ary decided to do things FOR them. And they could suck it if they complained. Sure she could make exceptions, but hey, for now it worked.

And so, the targets of varying types were set up at one end of her room with her rack of bows set up at the other. So many choices, so little time. And for once she had yet to actually LOOK at the kid's file. Oh well.

Considering how well his classes had gone before, Fitzroy had every reason to be excited about his new Melee class. He was getting a new teacher, and what he was learning was a surprise, so he walk-ran quickly down the hallways towards his classroom, in a manner that didn't quite fir his age or size.

He was so excited that Fitzroy flung the door open, grinning his shark-like grin widely as his eyes darted around. The first thing he saw was targets set up, and he stepped up to the angry-looking woman with disproportionate joy. "Holy crap! Am I learning archery?! Oh my god, that is so cool, I've wanted to learn this since I was a kid!"

Ary just stared at Fitzroy as he came in and acted far more happy and excited than she ever expected from someone in her class. "Yeeaahh, you're learning archery today. Glad you're so excited," she replied, a little put off by how ecstatic he was. It was rare for her to actively run into anyone like that, thus no surprise she couldn't actively think of a good retort.

"Right, archery, so I'm going to teach you the old way if that's alright with you. The newer age crossbows are so easy to master a toddler could do it, not to mention they're more expensive to deal with," she explained, backing up a few steps to regain her composure. Why did people have to be so sickeningly happy all the time anyways?

Fitzroy could tell that his excitement was throwing off his teacher, but he just couldn't help it. When he had been on his Legend of Zelda kick so long ago, he had begged Caspian to get him a bow, take him to an archery class, or both. Of course, his dad refused, foreseeing arrows shot around the house and store, scaring off customers ( not to mention him ). But, Fitzroy thought merrily, now there was nothing his dad could do about it!

"Oh yeah, that's totally fine with me. To be honest, I prefer that; modern bows just look wrong to me, if that makes any sense." He chuckled, bouncing on his heels as he looked around the room expectantly. "So, what should I do first, teach? Your wish is my command."

Ary flashed him a smirk. "Good, it wasn't like you had much of a choice anyways. Lessee... Need a bow for you..." she muttered, looking over the bows she had out already. The ones meant for essentially those of wrath were out, since she doubted Fitzroy could even bend them if he wanted to. The small ones were out, simply due to his size and age...

"Pull the string back on this one, see how it is and for hells sake don't break it," she commented, handing him a medium sized and somewhat plain-looking bow and an odd-looking glove, already grabbing a few others before realizing something. "By the way, the name's Arytiss. Call me Ary for short. Forgot to look at your file so I haven't a clue as to your name. Ain't a kid I've had before, that's for sure," Ary added, figuring it would be helpful to know who the hell she was dealing with before throwing anything else his way.

Arytiss' cold demeanor did nothing to dampen Fitzroy's mood, and he bounced contentedly on his heels, ready for his lesson to begin. He couldn't wait to show off his new-found talents to his friends; God, being a spawn was awesome! Who else got to learn such fascinating and exciting things? He peeked around her shoulder as best he could, trying both to look at the bows and figure out what kind he was going to receive.

He jumped a little when she turned and handed him a bow, which he took with a grin. "Thanks! And don't worry, I know I'm big, but I can be careful." After a little bit of juggling, the glove was on his hand and he was looking over at the target, trying to sum up his confidence to give it a tug. He smiled over his shoulder at the proper introduction. "Nice to meet you, Miss Ary. My name's Fitzroy Cathaldus; you can call me Fitzroy." He took a steadying breath, looking back towards the target, and then pulled back the string as far as he felt appropriate. A wince spread across his face at the unexpected tension, and his voice was a little strained as he called back. "How's this, Miss Ary?"

Ary frowned slightly as she circled her student once, tapping his arm occasionally to move it into a better position without causing him to release the whole thing. "Good, good. Little more tension than I'd like, but the next one down like it would be far too easy for you. It'll take some getting used to, though, since you're probably using muscles you've never used before," she explained, checking his form once again in case he had slipped a little.

Finding it satisfactory, her attention then turned to the target she had set up. "Here's an arrow, use it to aim for that target and take a few shots at a specific location on it. Once you've figured it out, try hitting the bullseye a few times," Ary continued, setting up a sort of stand filled with arrows by him. At least she figured he'd take a few tries to get the whole process down before actually attempting to hit a specific spot on the target.
