Freyr was a little bit surprised (and confused) when Odin demanded to go to an indoor pool. The six-legged boy didn't ask he demanded and as such the tall man was fruitless to deny the boy the obvious demand or rather the tall man didn't feel like fighting with the one eyed taur about whether or not they'd be able to swim.

Odin insisted that he'd be fine and that they were going.

They arrived at the indoor pool got dressed down appropriately with Odin wearing a pool-worthy tanktop that he can just chill out in while everyone splashed about in the water and he hung out at the ledge dipping hooves into the water at the moment. For now the toddler wasn't sure why he had made such a big fuss over going but he was determined to stick to his guns. Freyr stood in the water nearby just quietly lounging until his son had confidence to try to get in. Luckily they stuck near the shallow end.

Odin denied being bored much like he denied he couldn't swim. The dark skinned boy crossed his arms over his chest and gazed about for playmates.

"The water smells funny," Aevon said as she crinkled her nose, peering at the water in a curious fashion. While a child of water, this was the first visit to a pool, so the chemical odors were a bit new to her. She dipped in a hand and splashed around. It FELT like water, but it sure didn't SMELL like water.

"Are you SURE this stuff is safe Mama?" she queried as she looked up to her mother, who was already in the pool.

Jackie laughed and nodded. "Yes, it's safe. Because so many different people use pools like this, chemicals are needed to keep the water clean and free of germs. It also stops mold from growing." She explained.

Aevon gave her and odd look. "Those...are bad things...right?" She hadn't heard half of those terms Jackie just sprouted out.

"Yes, they make you sick."

Aevon smiled and wiggled her way into the water with a less than graceful plop. "Okay then!" she chimed as she rose from the water before peering at an odd looking fellow with more legs then she could count to. The highest she could go was four without getting confused.

Still, he seemed interesting enough, so she swam up close to him and peered at him for a few moments.

"Hi~"

A singular eye blinked as he tilted his head toward the voice that addressed him and then blinked again as he stared at her. She seemed a colorful creature for the most part but then thus far everyone he knew and met were all colorful in their own right so far.

Odin seemed almost as if he wasn't going to respond before he uttered a light, "'Llo," to her in return as he let his arms relax to his sides giving his seated posture a more of an open stance. He wondered if maybe he should try to get in the pool along with her or perhaps not. He didn't feel ready yet. "You like water?" the small boy asked in an attempt to get to know his playmate.

Aevon smiled. "Yes I do!" she said with a smile before twisting about to show him her mermaid tail. "I work better in water then I do on land. I mean, it can turn into legs...sometimes...but it's really hard to do and keep them that way, but I can't walk with fins so I usually just stay in the bathtub at home..." she commented kind of sheepishly.

"Do you like water?" she counter asked. With so many legs, he must be just a good of a swimmer as she was...right? That's how it worked, yes?

Odin looked at the little mermaid-like girl with interest and a tilt to his head as she explained her situation, "I can't do that," he said with a bit of a sulk then again he wouldn't know what to do with himself if he suddenly only had two legs instead of six. He leaned his torso forward a bit to peer into the water again with his singular eye before he looked up at her again.

"I...Like water. It is nice to look at," he said quietly as he crossed his arms over his chest, "don't think I can swim."

Unless it was a hidden talent...?

But water was wet and he'd get wet and it'd get on his scales and...

Odin dragged himself out of his thoughts to focus on the girl, "I'm Odin," he introduced himself without his guardian interfering.

"Oh? Really? I thought that you might be able to swim a lot better than most because you have more than two legs...but looking at water is nice too!" she said, adding the last part in after a pause as to make up for the first bit being an unintentional insult.

She smiled another sheepish smile. "I'm Aevon. It's nice to meet you Odin. Is this your first time here at a pool? It's my first time...it's different then a bathtub. Lots more room!" she said and swam around in a quick circle as if to prove a point.

Odin blinked his one eye as he listened to her explain how she thought he'd be better at it than most. To be honest it was a lot of hard work to get all of his legs moving to where he could walk with any sort of dignity and swimming seemed like it was unlikely that he would be good at it. Odin shifted a bit as he stared into the water, "Dunno...Didn't try yet," he admitted quietly to the girl in the water.

"...Aevon," he repeated after her as if to help to commit it to his memory. He gave a nod, "Nice to meet you too." He watched as she swam in a quick circle. Odin felt a bit jealous about it.

Quietly he shifted a bit more and moved to actually get into the water with her. The feel of the element soaking into his scales and fur was strange but not unwelcome. This was like bath time at home just a lot less awkward. Thankfully since he was at the shallow end he could just stand for the most part.
