You ate WHAT?!!?!?!
Hunter groaned and tried to creep up on Reiko. That goofy little shadow girl was at it again. She had been terrorizing the house and eating anything she could get her little hands on. Currently she was nibbling on Hunter’s prized possession. A wolf fang necklace. He had spent two weeks hunting down the wolf and had captured it and yanked its canine from its mouth while still alive. Respecting life was very important to his father’s pack. He grimaced and crouched low, hunting the shadow. He waited to spring, not wanting to startle her into swallowing it.
Reiko giggled and gurgled as she stalked around looking for something to eat. The thing she had in her mouth was tasty, but it wasn’t appetizing. What she was really craving was cookies. But not the kind that momma had made. She wanted cookies with all of the good things in the fridge added in. She took the thing from her mouth and looked around, trying to find something she hadn’t tasted yet.
Hunter’s tail twitched and his ears flattened out against his head. His opportunity presented itself as she looked around the room. Leaping up and out he pounced on the shadow, wrestling the necklace from her. ”Bad Reiko! No eat!” Reiko giggled and squirmed, thinking of it as a new game. The bell in her hair chimed and jingled hurting Hunter’s sensitive ears. ”Hold still!”
Reiko paused and tilted her head, looking up at him in confusion. Was he mad? Why was Hunter mad? Did Rei do something wrong? She frowned and slipped out from under him, reappearing out of his shadow. ”Rei?” Hunter growled and stuffed the necklace into his pocket. ”Yes I’m mad. Dis very ‘portant to me.” Rei floated forward to hug him. She was very sorry. Just so hungry. ”Rei rei ko.” Hunter paused and thought about it. Now that Reiko had brought it up, he was hungry too. ”C’mon. Let’s go find food.”
Kait turned a pale shade of green as she looked around at her kitchen. It was a mess to say the least. In the middle of the disaster zone sat Reiko and Hunter, faces covered in…..well….she wasn’t quite sure what. ”What in the world have you two been into?” Hunter looked up sheepishly and tried to hide the bowl. ”We made cookies. But we cou’n’t use the stove, so we ate it raw.” The woman moved closer and inspected his face, hiding a grin. ”Mmhmm. What kind of cookies?” He giggled and looked to Rei, as if they were sharing a secret. He put a finger to his bottom lip as he thought. ”Stwa’berries, ‘nanas, choc’lit, ‘nilla, soy sauce, t’basco, salsa, pickles, olives……” He stopped and looked to Reiko, silently asking if there was anything he had forgotten. She shook her head emphatically, sending the bells in her hair chiming again. Kait and Hunter clapped hands over their ears and Rei grinned in shame. ”Ko….” Kait looked at the two of them, the green tint coming back to her face as she stared on in disbelief.
”You ate WHAT?!?!”
