Hey, So I just finished re-reading the Bartimaeus trilogy and I feel like there's a lot of potential for an RP based on the mechanics of summoning/magic in general in the series. Anyone interested? (For those who haven't read the books, they take place in a London controlled by magicians who derive their powers from summoning demons. Which is a gross oversimplification but really you should read the books because they're awesome)

Sounds like a good idea. I had read the stories a while back and it would be fun to work with all that.
Though there are many things that can go wrong with the RP unless a few things are worked out. Example: Limit the number of wizards/demons allowed, that way the mix is a little even. Since I know more people would like to play the stronger characters like the wizards and demons than that of the resistance group. Also: Have characters play demons. That way the person playing the wizard will contend with someone who may act totally against what might happen if the wizard controlled his/her demon. And lastly, but not least: Have an idea of what the general direction you want to take the RP in. If there is no sense of 'plot' than the story can drag on and people will just drop out.
Little bit of advice if it helps.

I was definitely planning on having player-controlled demons - the interaction between magicians and demons seems to be almost the main attraction in the storyline :p

Hmm, I may he able to work out a plot myself, too. I've been craving a chance to include a certain story i've been working on.

Awesome! I'm not great at the whole coming-up-with-plots-for-roleplays thing, so that'd be much appreciated
