It was dark. Oh so very dark. Dark enough in winter that if Kain Nigel chose to, he could remove part of his blind fold and see the world for just a brief moment in time. In this case, he was back out in the park laying on the slightly damp, grass looking up at the sky. His blindfold just pulled down over his nose, so he could readjust it if required.
Kain was not alone in the park however, a few people had decided to gather at their windows or walked to the park itself. Most of the Astronomy club from the local school had gathered up on the climbing frame, while those from the university were fiddling around with telescopes. Some parents had brought younger children out, but quite a few had been taken back inside to watch. Despite the overall quietness of the situation, there were murmuring and whispers about the meteor shower announced on the news, It was apparently, the longest and most visible shower, they were going to see in a long time.
All the while the blob residing on Kain Nigel kept purring and occasional readjusting himself. "I do wish you'd keep still..." he muttered to the kitten. The kitten mewed in response and just purred a little louder, forming a smile on Kain's face.

Michael's wings lit up the night around him, and though his mother wasn't all that far away, the boy was taking joy in being out at night. Almost, but not quite alone. His neck was craned, his head flung back as he stared up at the sky. It was beautiful; the silver stars seemed to be dancing that evening.
It was the twinkling that gave them that effect. Michael could just imagine their little feet and arms, dancing up in the black void that was the sky. But that wasn't the reason they were out here tonight. There had been rumors of a visible meteor shower, one that the likes of which would not be seen for quite some time. The boy had begged his mother to bring him; and, Luna, never one to disappoint, agreed.
She was standing about ten feet away, shaking her head and smiling. For someone who professed to love the day, Michael sure did like seeing the stars.
