About: Natalia grew up in a brand-new development where all of the houses looked the same and everyone lived the same boring lives. The only fun part about living there was her next door neighbor, Rory. For as long as she can remember they've been friends. Such good friends, in fact, that they didn't really form lasting friendships with anyone else. They tried dating in high school, but decided that they made better best friends than anything else. When they graduated, they decided to live together, and moved to Nirvani where they could be roommates away from their boring hometown.
Natalia is upbeat and eccentric, and a complete tomboy. She has no real talents, but makes up for it with enthusiasm and diligence. No matter how hard she tries to be cute and girly, she's stubborn and masculine. She has three Great Danes (Yossarian, Piero, and Zipper) and enjoys telling Rory how much more she loves them than him. Although she can seem rude and a little cruel at times, her heart is always in the right place, and she's actually a remarkably positive person.
She really has no remarkable skills, which she claims makes her a flexible person. If there's anything she's really good at, it's memorizing useless facts. She finds it's a good conversation starter. She also has a knack for failing at pretty much everything she attempts to do successfully. She is one of those people who runs on pure dumb luck.

About: Rory's childhood was pretty much the most boring thing ever thanks to his wholesome teacher parents. He spent most of his time reading books in his room. That is, when he wasn't playing with his best friend and neighbor, Natalia. The two were super close and spent as much time together as they could. The boys in class teased Rory a lot about it, calling her his girlfriend. That confused him for most of his childhood, as he struggled to differentiate "girlfriend" and "girl friend". In high school, he attempted to figure it out by asking her out, but the relationship didn't last for long, and they returned to just being best friends. Thankfully, by that point he didn't really see her as a girl, and the moment he stopped trying, things worked out. When they graduated from high school they decided to be roommates and move away from their home town.
Rory is good-natured and loves lame jokes. He's rather personable, but because he finds meeting new people too much work, he doesn't have many friends. He likes to tease and make bad puns. He's an eternal optimist, which is why he enjoys Natalia's company--she's one of the rare people who doesn't let negative thoughts linger for long. He's surprisingly focused; if he has a problem, he doesn't hesitate to step out and fix it. He hates dwelling on one's problems. He's good at languages; he can understand Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Tagalog, but he can't speak a word in any of them. He studies languages in his free time. He's also a big history-buff. In short: he's a nerd.

• • • PETSFor Natalia's fifteenth birthday, her parents promised to get her a Great Dane puppy, since she had been begging for one for years. Of course, being the person she is, she took that as an invitation to contact every person selling Great Dane puppies through the Penny Saver. Her parents were embarrassed by their daughter's actions, but to make it up to the sellers, they bought a puppy from each litter.
