"So let me get this straight - you pretty much just summon them here?"
"Yes."
"Without warning - then, you just stick them with the vial and give no other explanation other than 'get baby supplies?"
"That's the jist of it, yeah."
"...you guys are a bunch of assholes." Meggie rolled her eyes as she watched her foster father draw out the summoning runes into the floor, bouncing little Shade in her arms. "Seriously? Can't you guys at least give them a full explanation as to why the hell you're giving them a weird-a** vial of possibly radioactive liquid?"
"Why should we? They'll figure it out for themselves in due time." The mage clapped his hands to rid them of the chalk before stepping back to examine his work. It was ready, he decided, and he jerked his head at his foster daughter to indicate that she should get out of the way. "It's not like we're giving them rabid beasts."
"Mama, wha's a beas'?" Shade asked, tilting his head up at Megg. The little boy had gotten quite big over the course of the few months that he'd been in the mansion - his guardian could hardly believe that he'd grown so fast!
"I'll tell you later, sweetie." Megg adjusted the toddler in her arms as she saw Nigel starting to perform the spell, the summoning circle beginning to glow in the center of the room. Magic swirled and twisted, taking the shape of a person after a moment - a woman, now that the brunette looked hard enough.
"I have something for you." Nigel said as soon as the woman had materialized, giving her no other explanation as to why, exactly, she'd been summoned here. Megg frowned at him, but the mage paid her no mind as he twirled a vial in his fingers - the one meant for the woman. "This is to be your responsibility from now on."

Justine Kura was working in the court on a case, and she was winning. She had to take the side of a man that supposedly stole and killed from a woman. The lawyer was now in recess, grinning ridiculously long. She loves winning, but loves more proving innocence.
There were about 5 more minutes for it, and she decided to get some fresh air. As she reached for the door, she realized her hand was fading away, as also her whole body was fading. Before long, she disappeared and reappeared in what seemed to be in a basement. It took a moment for her to get her senses back, before noticing a red haired man, holding a vial, and another woman behind him, holding a creature. "Wait, what? Where am I? Who are you? What's in that vial, and what is that..." she hesitated for a moment, thinking that it might be some sort of child for the woman, "Erm, baby?"

"You'll find that ou-"
"It's a baby." Megg cut off Nigel as he began to speak, earning her a glare from the redheaded man. She ignored him, however, deciding that she'd give this poor woman an explanation if her foster father wasn't going to. "The vial's going to turn into a kid - like Shade here." She bounced the little boy slightly in emphasis, prompting a small giggle from the child. "They're called implings." She gave the woman a smile. "I know it's hard to believe, but...well, that's the jist of it." The woman would probably think that they were crazy, but what did one expect after being magically summoned into a room? "My name's Meggie; that's Nigel, and this is Shade."
"Hi..." the little boy greeted shyly before burying his face into Megg's shoulder - he wasn't used to having new people around like this!
"...thank you for that, Megg." Nigel scowled at his foster daughter, while she merely beamed at him cheerfully, before he returned his gaze to the woman. "Well, now you have your explanation. So take the thing and go." At least she hadn't felt the need to tell the woman where they were.

Justine blinked multiple times, the universal language meaning 'what?'. She turned her attention to Shade, then Megg, then Nigel, then Shade again. She shook her head, massaging her head before introducing herself. "Hi, my name's Justine." Justine then thought about why these people would give her a baby, but quickly pushed aside that thought.
"Um, thank you, i guess." she said, taking her dormant baby. "So, how am I supposed to get back at court? The recess ends in a few minutes."

Megg scratched the back of her head, watching as Justine tried to digest all of this information - she was taking it rather well, really. From what she'd heard, most people usually flipped out initially - a rater appropriate response in her mind, really. Even she'd freaked out when she'd first been given Shade! "I know it's a lot to take in; it'll just take some getting used to though."
"That's a fairly simple matter, really; just step back into the circle, and I can send you to your previous location." Nigel said, gesturing to the chalk markings on the basement's floor. "You'll be back in no time." Was she a lawyer then? Or was she the person being put on trial? Or a witness even? It didn't really matter, either way, though he found himself secretly hoping that it was either the former or the latter - the middle choice probably wouldn't be a very stable person to be placing a child with. Oh well; he supposed that they'd just have to hope for the best.

"Okay then." she said, stepping onto the circle, teleporting back into the court. "Just in time." she said, tucking her magical soon-to-be son.
