As a young child, Cate had always been most exposed to mathematical or problem solving education material. Sudoku lying about the house, riddles books and children’s counting stories, her grandfather used to give her treats in rewards for solving number patterns.
Computers were the family business. Mother worked in creating new artistic programs, Father specialised in protection software and her brother had already started climbing the ladder to game development design. It was no surprise when Cate decided to follow the family path.
Finally she got her foot in the door at the most prestigious computer industry of the decade. CoreTech. A base level internship of six months, in a department of her choice.
Six weeks into her internship, she got an email from the higher-ups. It contained a file which congratulated her on her new contract with Coretech and how they looked forward to their future work together. Unfortunatley the file meant for Kate.Brookes@CoreTech.ct went to Cate.Brookes@CoreTech.ct
The file contained a state of the art anti-virus AI for the leading music download website whom had commissioned CoreTech to make the AI for them. Fortunately, Cate got the e-mail instead and downloaded Program E5G7117 breaching the contract.
As set to their specifics, the AI would only be usable by a singular IP that it would bond to on download, and could not be copied or sent to a secondary source.
CoreTech tried to reason they could simply send a new code over, but the music company disagreed that having two duplicates, even on different systems would only create a chance for hackers to use the twin as a practice dummy. They would have to start over.
Cate was now in a sticky spot, she had an AI on her comp, that no one wanted her to have, and she didn’t know how to use. It was simply decided then and there. Cate would be moved to an AV division and taught how to effectively us E5G7117 so the company may recoup some of its loss on the program.

Her entire life, Cate has been supported and loved by her family and as such can’t help but offer the world the same compassion. She is hardly seen without a smile for everyone.
While Cate has wondered what her parents might think if she ever stepper outside of the technology field, they have always promised, seemly truthfully, that they would still remain happy to see her happy. But in honesty, she couldn’t see herself as anything but a programmer. She doesn’t seem good at much else. Mind you, she enjoys a challenge and will never give up until it has a result. Failure or success she will see something through to the end and learn from the outcome it brings.
She takes these challenges, and her work very seriously, occasionally being a workaholic in order to get things done.

A petite figure and height. Tan skin with brown eyes and black hair. She has a bob cut and is often donned in bell shape dresses or skirts. Never seen without headwear. [
