Last year, the upper Wind Symphony at my school played An American Elegy, by Frank Ticheli, which is by far the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. It makes me cry. And it's not just the song it's self, it's the meaning behind it as well. A song of hope, in memory of those who lost their lives in the Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, and to honor the survivors. It's just amazing how just reading a video discription and listening to this song can make you cry. But just amazing.
At the trumpet solo, our best senior trumpet plays left the stage, and everybody was so confused. But then he started playing his solo at the door near the side of the auditorium, and it sounded like he was playing right from the audience. The freshman concert band was sitting in the back, and everybody stood up in honor of our fellow classmates. Just a perfect beautiful concert.

I'm in choir as well as band, and a choir song we sang for the fall concert makes me tear up every time. It's so beautiful, and it's lyrics are heart touching.

The Road Home, performed by the University of Utah Singers

I think it's only because it was my last senior show, but Wild Nights made me tear up during the performance, then cry like a little baby during pictures.

It starts at 6:34

not our best play through by any means, but our BD hasn't put up state from this year.

If you have not had an opportunity to hear any of David Maslanka's work...do so. Two stand out in my mind, as I've played both of them (Euphonium player).

Traveler

This piece introduced me to the composer, and still changes my thinking of music every time I hear it.

Symphony No. 4

...No words.

Well, I had a piece that made me tear up.
But it wasn't for the reason expected.
It was "Korean Folk Rhapsody."
But.
My crush in honors band played bells directly behind me, and we used to count our rests together.
And at the concert,
he started counting out loud.
I counted with him, my eyes gradually filling with tears.
I could hardly play >.<
But no one could see me anyways.
