Rules and Guidelines
Player Rules
1. No god-modding. We will be using a "dice-based" system for combat. 2. Players may have two original characters and one story character. A story character is one that is already in the Nippon Ichi universe, such as Laharl, Zetta, etc. Your story character can be an Overlord, a vassal, whatever your choice. 3. Try to stay active. A silly thing coming from my mouth, I know. But if you're busy, please let us know. 4. No flaming-waming. If you have a problem with a certain player/character, PM me or Kilik Kane (RP coordinator). We will handle it.
Normal Characters
1. Players may have two original characters. One can be "based" on the character you entered into the guild. This means that the character is at the current guild level and class. The other character is at level 1 and can be any of the base classes or Rogue, Scout, Archer. 2. Guild characters start with 1000 Hel. The other starts with 500 Hel. This can be used to buy weapons, armor, and items. You may purchase more by "buying" them (donating to the guild) or finding Hel during adventures.
Overlords / Story Characters 1. Players may have one Overlord or other story character. 2. Overlords start with 10,000 Hel. Story characters start with 5000 Hel. 3. Overlords can build armies by persuading NPCs (non-player characters) and characters to their side. Likewise, characters can persuade NPCs and other OCs (original characters) to their cause - whatever that may be.
Combat These battles are determined by dice rolls on the forums. 1. Post your initial battle post and roll your die, ie: "Fred the demon attempts to smack Zetta upside the head." In the post action: Roll dice. Choose 1 20-sided die. Submit the post. 2. Edit your post based on the roll and your modifiers. Say, Fred manages to successfully hit Zetta. The player then adds to the post: "And in amazing smack, Zetta is sent flying!" 3. Each successful hit takes away 1 hit point. Hit points are based on character level. An Overlord and story character automatically has 50 hp. 1st level characters have 5 hp and gain 3 hp per level. 4. Players critically hit on a roll of a 20. This does 2 hp of damage. Players critically miss on a roll of a 1. They smack themselves somehow for 1 point of damage.
Modifiers Modifiers are based on levels, weapons, armor and other items. Certain weapons do more than 1 point of damage. And certain armors and items can nullify that.
A 1st level melee character starts with a 15 to-hit ratio. This means that in order to hit someone, they need to roll a 15 on their die roll.
Every level beyond 1st level adds a +1 to hit. So, a 2nd level character needs a 14 to hit someone.
Upgrading your weapons makes it easier to hit people.
Magic
Casting helpful and harmful spells also benefit the party.
