I blame my taste in Resident Evil and other shoot-em-up games and novels. Claire Elizabeth Kinsley would be the best for this inspiration. Have her clothing blood-splattered, maybe an injury (nothing serious, please), and her gun smoking (I've yet to see a semi-automatic actual smoke, but whatever).
