Rose stared out the window of the office while leaning back in her chair, pistol in her hand. The reinforced steel door was locked and the bulletproof windows shut tightly, but Rose wasn't going to take any chances. Somehow, someone who recognized David had found and poisoned him, then come after him in broad daylight, she wasn't going to leave their safety up to an inanimate object. Rose sighed and blinked, she had been up for far too long after what had happened; part of her just wanted to fall asleep in the arms of the man she loved, but most of her was too stubborn to simply leave her post.
She stared out the window for a while, not really taking in anything, just spacing out. When she realized she wasn't actually looking she groaned and decided it was time to sleep. She stood up, closed the inner metal shutters on all the windows and locked them up tightly. The office was basically a fortress, with only one entrance which was heavily reinforced, it was probably one of the most secure places on the middle levels. Sighing again Rose stretched her arms above her head and cracked her neck, god she was tired. She turned and headed into the bedroom, stopping at her closet and removing her clothes before sliding into bed next to David. She had insisted that he sleep, and regain his strength, he needed to be at his best if he was being attacked. She sighed comfortably and moved closer to him; brushing her dark red hair out of her eyes and silently staring at him before falling asleep with a rare smile on her face.
The next morning, Rose awoke to the darkness of the room, her eyes still adjusting as she remembered that she had shut all the shutters on all the windows and turned off all the lights. She blinked lightly to shake her sleepiness and looked to her left, where David was still sleeping. "So much for our day off..." She brushed the hair from her face again and slowly slid out of bed, moving to the closet and putting on some comfortable casual clothes. She wasn't going anywhere today, it was better if the both of them just stayed in, especially after what happened. She left the bedroom and made her way to the computer, she hadn't checked it at all since the morning before.
When Rose opened her messages, she simply blinked for a moment; she had two new messages, both of them job offers, good ones at that, but she wasn't going to accept them today. Silently hoping that the jobs would be there the next day, she stood up, walked to the kitchen and started making breakfast.

David had gone to bed on Rose's orders without protest, he had barely made it to the apartment on his own weight. In the end it Rose had helped him into her bed room and he had fallen asleep with his clothes on. It had been a slight side effect of the doctors remedy, and would wear off by morning he had assured them. Although David had fallen asleep almost right away he had still been quite aware of Rose as she had curled up in bed next to him during the night, it had made his sleep much more comfortable when he felt her warm body next to his and he had managed to wrap his arms around her.
"Wake up" a voice whispered into his ear, just enough for him to come to some kind sort of senses. Rose? he thought wondering if it had been her, shifting slightly he hugged her a bit tighter for a moment, but some thing was not right, Opening his eyes he saw her, eyes closed, her skin appearing deathly pale, under his hands her still body was cold, he could feel sticky thick liquid all over his arms, "Rose!?" he said cold fear clenched his gut as he moved over her, his hands going to her cheek to try and wake her, he found his hand covered in dark red blood as he smeared it on her cheek pale sickly bluish cheek.
"ROSE!" he shouted as he sat up in the empty bed, A cold sweat covered his body as he filled his lungs with the cold morning air, his gut was still in knots from the dream, "Rose?" he said again hearing the sounds of cooking coming from the kitchen as he tossed the covers off his legs and walked out of the bedroom relived to see her making breakfast. smiling slightly he walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her in releif, "Good morning" he told her kissing her neck, and holding her close.

Rose nearly nearly dropped everything when she heard David scream, but sighed a sigh of relief when she saw him leave the bedroom unharmed. She let a small smile slip when he wrapped his arms around her, leaning her head back when he kissed her neck and saying, quietly, "Do you need something? My hands are kinda full here..." She leaned her head forward and went back to cooking, her range of movement impaired by the arms wrapped around her. She finished cooking and set the food on plates, with slight difficulty due to David. She shrugged David's arms off and moved the plates to the table and sat down, sighing as she looked at David, a question on the tip of her tongue, but she wasn't sure she wanted to ask it. She stared at David for a few more moments then opened her mouth and asked, "David... What are we going to do? They came after you in broad daylight, and almost succeeded in killing you... It doesn't take a genius to figure out that we'll need to head out into the wastes sooner or later." Rose picked at her food, taking a bite of her bacon before downing half a glass of water. She sighed and said, "How long before they just find you and kill you? They could be out there right now, just waiting for us to leave..." Rose looked worried, and she was, she knew they couldn't just hold off the people that came after David indefinitely.
After finishing her meal, Rose walked over to David and hugged him tightly, saying, "I don't care what decision you make, I'll be right there next to you. You aren't getting rid of me that easily. I think we should go see my contact. Maybe he can figure out how to help us." Rose let go of David and sighed, looking up at him before moving back into the bedroom, quickly changing her clothes and grabbing her gun before heading back into the living room. She moved to the cabinet on the opposite wall and grabbed her shotgun, slinging it over her shoulder and moving to one of the shuttered windows, opening it as she said, "I don't know anything for sure, but I think he can-" Her sentence was cut short when, as soon as she opened the shutter, a bullet came whizzing through the 'bulletproof' glass and hit her in the shoulder, the force of it sending her to the ground. She scrambled up to the wall and shut the shutter just as another bullet whizzed inside and put a hole in the computer. Rose swore loudly as she locked the shutter, sliding down to the floor on her back; her right hand moving up to her shoulder and gently feeling the wound, checking the damage. She gasped in pain a** she looked down, the bullet had gone right through her, and hadn't hit any important bits, but she could barely move her left arm; her shotgun wasn't going to be of any use. She looked tat David and said, panting slightly, "See? I told you so. What... what are we going to do?"

David simply smiled to her as he fought to keep hold of her while she was cooking. she shrugged him off once she had had enough and he followed her to the table for breakfast. he was relatively silent throught the meal, letting her speak her mind as he thought about the events that had nearly transpired, why now? he had to wonder, just when he had gotten his life where he wanted it to go, just when he had finnally gotten through to Rose, why did people just start coming from the shadows suddenly intent on killing him. "i don't know what I'm going to do Rose" he said to the plate in front of him still full of food.
He stood when she did and simply watched her as she moved to grab her guns, He did not like seeing her worried like this. Perhaps i should just leave her, they just want me right? he wondered "Seeing your contact would probably be a good idea Maybe... maybe he might have an idea as to why they are targeting me" he said not mentioning that the contact might be able to help him remember his past. that was probably the real reason he was being targeted, something he had done in the past. A gun shot rang, glass shattered and he turned from his room door to see Rose fall to the ground, "Rose!" he shouted running to her side, she was bleeding from her shoulder, "Hold on ill find the first aid kit" he said running to the bathroom for the kit and begining to clean the wound, tearing away her shirt so he could get at it better. His heart smeemed to turn cold as he cleaned and bandaged her wound, Rose was hurt, she was hurt from a gun shot through the window and it had been all his fault. Numbly he finished wrapping in a slight state of shock. Slowly he sat back and looked into her eyes, for once true fear shuttered his being and he remembered his dream, "Rose, I-" a bang on the door could be heard and it cut off David's words. "We know you are in there David Corseman, Come out with your hands up!"
