 CielTi was frustated, tired, irratable, alone, and hungry. The woods were cold, and covered with a fresh blanket of snow. The pads of his paws were beggining to freeze. He hadn't seen any other animals in weeks. Nothing to eat, or to even talk to. "This lone thing is starting to really get to me!" He shouted out loud." His voice only echoed back to him in the forest.

 Lungaia was hungry.
Not for meat, no. She'd eaten her fill earlier on a fawn she had felled on her own, before giving the leftovers to the meek wolf that followed her. No...Lungaia's hunger was of the other sort, that deep-seated desire to hunt more challenging prey.
She was ashamed of this hunger. Her father had been a sociopath and a lunatic, and her sister was a murderer; Lungaia had always thought she was above such pathetic urges as the others had.
But the truth was, she wasn't. Not really.
And when she caught the sound and scent of a vulnerable creature, she couldn't control the urge welling up in her once more. A bittersweet smile crossed her maw. Well now...this could be a fun game.
Lowering herself to her belly, tattered ears folded back to her skull, the dark-colored wolf crept forward, sneaking upon the other wolf as though he were a preybeast. Not with intent to kill -- not yet, anyway -- but with sharp eyes looking upon him appraisingly.

Ciel Ti put his tails between his legs and lowered his hind legs closer to the ground as he turned around to look at the one who had come up behind him. His ears lay flat but his stomach growled. He tried not to look at the other one in the eyes but his gaze peeked in a little. He didn't say anything but let out a low whimper. He was always afraid of others, timid, perhaps because he rarely came into contact with many. He looked again, it was a female...he waited for her to talk.

A brow raised. She halted in her path, her own torn ears lying back to her skull, eyes gleaming coldly beneath her brow. "You're all alone," she said, in a voice that was quiet and husky from lack of use -- like Ciel Ti, Lungaia spent much of her time alone.
A slight smirk crept up her maw. Her nostrils flared, inhaling the other's scent, and she hoped he would give her a good fight to make this worthwhile...to curb her hunger for as long as it could be contained.
"Do you fight, pup?"

CeilTi cowevered, and put his head even further down. "Fight..." He swung his head up and tried to look the other wolf in the eyes. The truth was he had never been in a fight before and he wouldn't call the small skirmishes he had as a pup anything but play. He was afraid to admit it...especially to a female, but he was terrible at lieing. "I haaave....Never been in a fight!" His eyes widened and he stepped back. Oh no he didn't mean to say that. He put on a smile for the female...and closed his eyes...waiting for something to happen.

"Pity," she said, slowly continuing to circle him, tail swishing agitatedly behind her. "You won't last long, then."
What did she mean, precisely? Last long in the world? Or last long against her? Both seemed equally likely.
"Perhaps I should give you a bit of an education."
In the back of her mind, Lungaia didn't know why she did these things. In the back of her mind, she was disgusted by this deep-seated desire to bully others...to cause fear amongst them. Yet this feeling was chained down by that hunger to kill...to maim...to cause fear. It was the life she had always known, in the shadow of her father, and without a proper outlet for the urge...all she could do was contain herself as best she could.
Swiftly, moving in a blur, she leapt forward to knock the lone wolf off his paws.

CielTi fell forward the dirt going up his nose. He growled. "Females" He jumped back up at her, his teeth showing. He tried to get a scratch on her, but tripped again and fell to his sides. He heard small cracks in his chest. Probably ribs. "Cough, teach me what!?" He snarled at her and spit. "There's nothing a female like you could teach me." he said staring straight into her eyes.

"Nonsense," she said, rolling back to her pause, muscles coiling in a crouch. She trained a cold glare upon the other. Had he submitted, she would have spared him, but she took his argument as a challenge, and Lungaia was loth to back down from a challenge. "I can teach you about pain," she said. "And I can teach you to die."
She lunged forward again, teeth bared, snapping at his shoulder.

Ceil stepped back but tripped on a rock, his left ankle seemed to be broken now, he tried to hobble up, he was so weak so afraid. Death? He snarled, "Bring it on fiesty female!" He tried to attack but missed. He couldn't run now..."Then teach me of death...let's see what you got!"

She hesitated as he fell. His teeth scraped past her fur, but he was clearly down for the count. He wouldn't be able to run. How disappointing.
"You're a brave wolf," she said, circling his fallen body. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, whatever conscience she had flickered to life. She lifted a paw, then set it down, lowering to her haunches. "Or very stupid. Do you have nothing to live for?"
Why wasn't she killing him? It would be so easy. And yet...that was the problem, wasn't it? Lungaia was a hunter, but not a murderer. Not really. She yearned for the chase, for the fear, for the violence...but the kill, when it was so easy, lacked a certain something....

He felt her paws, strong and hard upon his chest. What a fool he was...being schooled by a female. What had happened to him. Ever since he had lost his twin, he felt like he had lost the stronger part of himself. He gave into though, the feeling of being captured, conquered, overtaken. If she was going to kill him...so be it...or he could run. Run from her maybe she would stalk him, wondering where he went. He would hide in the shadows. CeilTi was getting delirious. He had not eaten for weeks, just a few scraps here and there, leftovers from others kills that he would scavange.
A brave wolf? Me...sister you don't know what I have been through...either leave my soul on the forest floor like a dog...or...he started to shiver.
The wounds were already starting to take affect of him. His body trying to heal itself puting all its energy there instead.
He tried to focus his glazing eyes on her.
I don't have anything to live for...
With the last of his strength he wiggled out of her grip, limping to try and face her...not knowing what would happen next.

She felt him struggle away from her, and she relented. She fell back, letting him rise, a brow lifting. He looked a mess -- fur tattered and bleeding in places, his eyes haunted, his frame gaunt -- but there was some fight in him.
Good enough.
She smiled. It was not necessarily a friendly smile, but it was not malicious. "You are courageous indeed," she said. "I'll let you live."
Killing in cold blood had never been her forte, anyway. That was Kaeerah's deal. But was it merciful to allow him to live? Something in the look of his eyes made him think maybe he was begging for death...

CeilTi stood up head lowered, breath heavy, trying to clear his thoat to speak, he only let out a cough. Crimson red blood spattered on the dirt in front of him. He actually felt good getting beat up by this female. He felt more alive. He could see now that his mind was fading, something had gone astray in his slowly collasping psychological health. He wished she had killed him. He swallowed the blood, it felt soothing coating his throat. "Couragous, why would you say that?" Instead of waiting for her to answer, he turned his back, wanting to run, but his injuries would only allow for a hobbled trot.

Lungaia stood still, watching as he limped away. Perhaps he would die in the wilderness, she thought. Perhaps he would curl up under a tree and suffer from his wounds. Wouldn't that have been a waste.
But she had shown mercy. It took a special type of courage to withstand a beating...to humbly take an onslaught. To keep on living, when there was no reason to do so.
"Run, before I change my mind," she called after him, deciding there was no point in answering his question. What if he had decided to turn around? She couldn't guarantee that she would not tear him apart if he did.

He didn't look back he just kept going, his wounds tinged with every step. He might die if he kept going, he didn't really care, the pain made him feel alive, he barely heard her words as his feet crunched beneath the brush. He kept going as the forest engulfed him.
