A friend at the aquarium is re-doing one of his tanks, so he gave me some of his fish. My new fish are:
3 rummynose tetras 4 red eye tetras 1 marbled hatchetfish 1 keyhole cichlid.
I put the red eyes in my mom's tank and everyone else in mine. Then my cherry barb started picking on the rummynoses so I moved him to a different tank. Other than that, everyone is adjusting really well. I'm going to expand upon the rummynoses and hatchets when I upgrade my tank. I'll have pics tomorrow, I'm keeping the lights off today so they can get used to their new home.

I don't know. I have a hood, filter and heater for either a 29g or a 20g long. So probably one of those, just need the tank and the stand. I like the 20long because it's low so it's easier to do water changes and rearrange stuff, but the 29g has a bigger volume so the water quality will be better. But I'm kinda short, so if I can't reach into it is it really worth the extra 9 gallons? I dunno.

Go for the 29! Its not too bad! If you're feeling up to a challenge, you could build your own stand that is only a couple feet tall so you can do stuff in the tank better. There are loads of DIY projects on the internet blaugh

I had trouble doing stuff in my 20g high, the 29 is going to be a nightmare. But I'll look into building a stand. A lot of the stands at the aq are made of this hard plastic stuff, bolted together, I suppose I could make something like that. Though whether it'll be cheaper than just buying a stand deserves a trip to the hardware store for pricing xD I'm also going to a fish store today with my friend because she's getting stuff for her 20g sw set-up, so I can look at stands and stuff. And get some blackworms for my new fishies. Pics later, I couldn't find my cam yesterday.

Considering that the compressed fiberboard stand for my ten gallon was about $70, its porbly is cheaper to make your own, if you know where to shop. I bet you could go around to stores that sell wood and ask if they had any scrap 2-by-4's they could give you free/cheap. 29's are only about 4-ish ft long, right? And about a 1 ft wide? I think you could find some good scrap pieces 3nodding Or even if theres a Dumpster that has scrap wood. Theres one by my moms work that we take wood from all time for DIY type projects.

A 29 has the exact same footprint as a 20 long, it's just taller. Sooo I'd say about 2 1/2 -3 ft long and 1 ft wide. Thanks for the ideas!
Sooooo the trip to the fish store today was an IMMENSE success. I brought my boyfriend along, and as Nora and I were looking at the saltwater stuff for her new tank, he walked around and decided that he wanted some fish. And he knows in order for that to work, we need another tank. Sooooo he was looking at the 20g longs and the 10 boxed set-ups. I told him that I have everything needed for either a 20g long or a 29g. Aaaaand he went ahead and got a 20g long xD (this is progress since he hated that I even have 1 10g tank) He also got a (hopefully) female albino bn and a large portion of blackworms. So we got home, set up the tank, he went on ebay and bought some plants and so far everything is good. I seeded the tank with the filter media and some of the sand from my tank, his pleco is adjusting well. Tomorrow I'm going to move the keyhole and the marbled hatchefish into the new tank, aaaand sometime this week we're going on a trip to my FAVORITE fish store that I never get to go to because it's so far away. I seriously have not been there in a year and a half, I'm so excited!!!! (The one we went to today is the closest to my house.)
Oh yeah, also he said that when we move we can get a 55g.
