Just an office. Plain office. That is all.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 16, 2011 1:20 pm

She had sent out a squad announcement, telling whoever was in the squad to report to her office. In the days that she had become Squad Captain, which wasn't too long ago, she hadn't grown accustom to this. This. The fact that she was a Gotei 13 Captain. In the days that followed her sort of 'forced' promotion, she found herself wandering around the Seireitei, still in the mindset that she was still a 'free' woman-- More like freeloader, as one may put. Now, she did not have that freedom to wander around as she pleased or bother her old friends. Now, she was constricted to this small space that someone would call an 'office'. Back in her days, she was sure this was the Vice-Captain's office.

Back in her days? What was she-- Some type of ancient?

Yomiko pursed her lips in irritation, sitting behind the desk, boredly glancing around at the plain interior of the office. Wooden walls surrounded her, not a thing on the walls. No a single type of funiture for any guests to sit on, only the desk and the very chair she was sitting on right then. To Yomko, it seemed as though as soon as the old Captain had disappeared, someone came in and stole whatever momentos that belonged to the Captain. Not that it bothered her, she was glad that she could customize this office from the ground up. Her style.

Her style because it was her office.

HER office.

A slow, small smile formed on her dark face as her aurem orbs glanced over at the door, hadn't ever thinking about it like that. All she thought it was about was 'all work and no play'. Yomiko shifted in her seat, placing her legs on the edge of the desk crossed. Yomiko knew she didn't look like a 'Captain', per se. She hadn't put on her Captain's Haori since she obtained it, preferring it to hang on the back of her chair. The only 'jacket' she wore was a black hoodie with the words 'Loverholic Robotronic' and the regulation hakama. She was sure that whenever her new pupils came in, they would look at her in an odd manner.

Not that she cared anyway.

"My office." She muttered, that smile still on her face. "My ******** office."

OOC: SHINee reference FTW.

It hadn't been long since Florian had joined the Second Division, perhaps more than a week, however much less than a month. He should have known this, he felt like everyone knew exactly when they joined their squad, but that wasn't his style. What would remembering the date do for him? Allow him to celebrate some sort of anniversary? The whole thing was just irrelevant and childish to him. The only important thing that hadn't happened, was that Florian was never formally introduced to the Captain. It had been at least a week since he'd joined the Second Division and yet, no one had bothered to rear their heads the entire time. In fact, Florian had only met one individual, that being Hirimi, who had since, herself, become a recluse.

With that being said, upon receiving an invitation from the Captain for an introduction, Florian became rather excited. Something about the whole timing of the matter made him feel, not anxious, but exhilarated in a sense. This Captain, Yomiko, she seemed to be a bit more laid back, less formal and stuffy than he had previously thought of all Captains. Florian, without ever meeting his Captain, already liked her style.

Not soon after receiving his invitation did Florian take leave. In truth, he had no idea where the Captains was actually located. Second Division was a humble squad, or so it seemed, for there was no clear distinction from one building to the other, and no one building screamed out "Captains Quarters". So, Florian did what he knew best, he began to wander about the Second Division, as he had days before, until he felt some sort of inclination as to where Yomiko's residence was.

To Florian's surprise, it hadn't been all that long of a walk before he stumbled upon a building that did look a bit different from the rest. In no way was this structure immaculate or even regal. In truth, the building looked far more plain, more hum-drum than all the rest, that Florian knew this must be where Yomiko's office was located.

He stood before the entrance for several moments and made no motion to enter the office itself. Florian stood in wonderment and thought deeply on the matter of who his Captain was, curious, I wonder if she's as blasé as this building is. Holding his chin in his left hand and resting his left elbow upon his right arm which crossed his chest, Florian seemed to be deep in thought; his analytical nature had once again claimed him and for the time being he stood mesmerized by all the possibilities that came rushing into his head.

Get yourself together, this is no time to play guessing games, just get your arse in there. Florian had spent too long in front of the building. What seemed like only a second to him had quickly become several minutes. This sort of thing was not unlike Florian but rather, very common. He was also consumed by his thoughts, ignoring the outside world why pondering the meaning of life. Somehow, something always caught his attention and snapped him back to reality and luckily for him, it had not been another member of the Second Division thinking him a fool.

Still all by himself, in front of the Captain's office, Florian collected the remains of his lingering thoughts, and lurched towards the entrance. Gently, he grasped the hand of the door and with the lightest tug ever, opened it and hurried himself inside. Crossing the wood floors with the up-most grace, Florian brought himself to the door entitled "Office" and with his first two knuckles on his left hand, rapped ever so lightly, a single time. He now stood silent, awaiting some inclination that he should enter.

Angel sighed as he made his way to the captains office. He smiled as he rubbed his chin thinking of the last time he was ever in that room. Was it before or after Captain Rhia died? He couldnt remember. He shrugged as he remembered the old days of the squad. Back then they he had alot of friends. Now he barely knew anyone and all his old friends were either dead or gone. He shook his head as h knocked on the captains door and walked in. He smiled, "Morning captain." He greeted Yomiko as he took a seat.

Yomiko's thoughts carried her elsewhere for the time being, fantasizing on how she was going to turn this office until a place worth coming into. If she could recall, back in the days, this office had heated floors? Or was that in the Executive Militia's office? Yomiko pondered this briefly, bringing a finger to her lips. Well, as much as she would hate to admit, she was getting old. Before she could delve deeper in her thoughts, the woman felt a prescense out her door. The hairs on her neck stood up, however, her posture was not erect. No doubt about it, a squad member had come. Anxiety filled her for the moment, now allowing it to all sink in.

She had a squad to raise now. They were basically her kids.

HER kids.

Yomiko's stomach churned, a slight pained expression lined her features for a moment before the door opened. That once pained expression turned into one of apathy. In came one of her squad members, she was assuming, with a smile on his face. That smile did nothing to lessen the anxiety she felt, only gratifying it. The woman pursed her lips, her eyes examining the fellow before glancing at the male that stood at the door. She removed her finger from her lips, brushing her bang from out of her brow in irritation.

She gave the man a smile. "Don't be shy. I'm not going to bite...," She told him, motioning him inside. Yomiko turned her attention to her other guest. "You ARE my squad member, right? I know The Seireitei is notorious for having 'visitors'." Yomiko said with a chuckle. "Well..?"

Angel rolled his eyes at Yomiko's question since he was the oldest member of this squad, "Yes Captain I am. Angel Kotoshi 5th Seat of Squad 2 reporting in." He chuckled. He never did like using his full title. Hell he never liked a title with his name anyways. He tilted his head at what she said. Visitors? He couldnt help but smile at that. The Seireitei has had every single kind of race in its walls over the years. He was surprised it wasnt on lock down all the time.

Standing in the doorway, Florian smirked handsomely at Yomiko's wit. The smirk gradually turned to a genuine, toothy smile, and with a slight nod, Florian entered the room, taking his placed beside, whom he presumed to be, his fellow squad-mate. "I'd almost prefer that you did bite, ma'am; it'd make things all the more interesting. Florian playfully teased his Captain in an attempt to gauge her character. "You wouldn't want us thinking that our Captain were as dull as her office, would you?" Florian's toothy grin was now a pearly white cheese-filled smile as he laughed softly.

Florian, in no way, felt nervous standing before his Captain. While it may have no been in his character to be a chatty individual, he hoped to make a good impression by presenting his own clever, retorts. "Allow me to introduce myself, Yomiko-taichou, I'm Florian Marsimoto, and it is quite the pleasure of mine to be meeting you." Florian half-bowed in his own awkward way wishing to show his respects without kissing major a**. Again, it was not in his character to suck up or to be a brown-noser but Florian loved making good first impressions, especially when the person whom he were meeting was someone of such highly-respectable caliber.

Once again standing erect, Florian, from the corner of his eye, began to "size-up" his fellow squad-mate. So his name is Angel and he's the 5th seated member, eh? In his own way, this individual, Angel, seemed to be somewhat arrogant. Perhaps it was Florian being overly critical of his future teammate, but he felt as though the man had a chip on his shoulder; if Florian could help it, he'd be the one to knock that chip right off. Nevertheless, he was sure that this wouldn't be the last of his encounters with Angel and Florian knew that he'd need to reserve his judgments until he'd actually grown to know the man, himself.

"I'd like it if you'd refrain from rolling your eyes, Kotoshi." Yomiko stated abruptly, that smile and chuckle clear off of her face. Her face showed apathy, much like the one she had before she engaged in conversation with her squad member. She wanted to allow her squad members to be comfortable around her, that much was for certain, but not too comfortable for gestures like that. Yomiko removed her legs from her desk, sitting up in the chair, and rested her arms on the desk. "I'm sure you hadn't acted in such a manner with your other Captains, so don't do it again." The woman leaned forward, gradually turning her attention to the other next to Angel.

Her weak smile appeared, the comment about the office struck her right in the heart. He was right. People would actually think she was some sort of dull, lifeless individual if she didn't do something soon. The news about her becoming a captain would've made it's way to her old friends and maybe some new faces. At that moment, her thoughts drifted over to a certain 9th squad Captain before she shook her head. There was nothing she could say to that, instead, she just sat in silence as the male introduced himself. 'Florian? An odd name...' She thought, sucking onto her bottom lip.

"And your rank, Flo?" She asked, smiling a bit at the new nickname. "I don't have the ranking data since the old Captain must've misplaced them...," Yomiko's eyes looked around the small office once again. "The Captains previously... you guys know any of them? Or are you guys just as new as me?"

Angel rubbed his chin as he nodded to Yomiko. Maybe he was acting to relaxed and should be a little more respectful. He nodded when he heard her next question, "I knew three of them. The oldest one I can think of is Captain Rhia, but she was killed by an Arrancar a long time ago." He went quiet as the memory came back. How she was killed, what happened to the Seireitei, and what happened to the squad. He shook his head and got back on track, "After her Kurai was put up as a temporary captain, but she disappeared. Next was Captain Drift for a bit, but then he was transferred to another Squad."

His heart was sent a flutter; Yomiko's demand for respect seemed to instantly brush off on Florian, soon after her statement. Despite the gentleness of her voice, her words carried much weight to them, with a slight hint of a menacing note. For some odd reason, Florian felt that he and his Captain would quickly become good friends.

Continuing to observe her, Florian noted that his words had somewhat struck her like a dagger. It had never been his intention to call her dull or insult her in any sense but his statement, in some inexplicable way, had jolted some sort of emotion and thought within his Captain. "Tenth seat, ma'am." From his statement, one could conclude that there was certainly and unmistakable sense of pride in his position, however there was also doubt. Truth be told, Florian felt that he could easily take on the 5th seat Angel and even hold his own against 3rd seat Hirimi. Nevertheless, Florian knew that he'd have plenty of time to prove his skill and worth and for the time being, should embrace his 10th seated position.

When Yomiko asked of the previous Second Division Taichou's, it took Florian sometime to piece together who exactly had previously captained the squad. "I was formerly acquainted with Drift-sama, however, the others I did not know. I am every bit as new as you are, Yomiko-taichou." Upon mentioning Drift, Florian's memory fluttered back, briefly, to the first encounter he'd ever had with him. Florian could not, for the life of him, rekindle the memory, but he felt as though he'd known Drift-sama for the longest time. This failure to remember the circumstances of his former friendship with Drift began to pick at Florian, he now stood with a furrowed brow and a face full of concern.

Quickly, however, Florian became aware of himself and shook the pressing thoughts free from his mind. There would be time enough, in a private manner, to be worried about his memory; for the time being, Florian was to devote all of his attention to Yomiko. "Flo? Are we already giving each other pet names? Isn't this still considered the first date?" Florian now held a s**t-eating grin on his face, Yomiko was a clever woman, an attribute that he respected. Her lax nature when it came to formalities also seemed to be respectable and already Florian was beginning to feel himself drawn to the appeal of the Captain's personality.

Has always Hikaru was deep in though as he made his way towards the Captain Office. His thoughts always wandered to what ever he though of , but they would always go back to one subject sooner or later. It was a touchy subject for Hikaru his Mentor and Friend Torsin Bali deserter of Squad Two yet still a hero to many of the squad members. He had only been given bits , and pieces of his friends many accomplishments in this squad yet the more he heard the more winding the way he followed became. You sure have me quite the mountain to climb Torsin.

Reaching the Captains office he knocked before entering. Standing in the back so he could simply watch he nodded at his captain his mouth closed shut despite him wanting to ask so many questions. He knew she was a Shihouin, so he had figured she had met Torsin's rival Kurai so he was hoping that she knew something about Torsin that he hadn't already been told about.

Though to be honest he was honestly nervous because he had already developed a reputation for getting into fights with the other squad members to the point where he had at least half the squad as enemies. In his defense though they had insulted Torsin, and he had never been able to just let something like that happen in front of him without him becoming angry.

Rhia. Kuraime. Drift. All names she had known previously. Her students and one of her mentors had headlined this division before it's reigns had been thrusted upon her in haste. The woman pursed her lips in thought, eyes breaking away from Florian and rested onto the haphazard papers on her desk. She knew about what happened to Rhia, that was old news from years ago. Kuraime? Her younger cousin, whom she had a rather deep connection with, had disappeared along with the others she had known. Drift? Well, he was true to his name.

Always was.

That thin line that was once on her face turned into a small smile. Yomiko leaned back in her chair, eyes now on Florian and his comment. Oh? He was quite the guy, Flo. She arched an eyebrow, her smile slowly turning into a grin. Yomiko had a feeling that she and Flo would get along, but she wasn't sure about the others. After all, she wanted to have a good relationship with her squad members.

"Only if you want it to be the first date, Flo. Only if you want it to be...," She trailed off, her attention now at the new arrival in her office. He stood a couple of feet away from Florian and Angel. "Don't just sit back there all quiet! Come up here with your fellow squad mates." She motioned him to come towards the desk before she looked over to Angel. The boy looked as though he had been in the squad longer than the other two. Maybe he could be of some help to her?

"So, could you tell me what your last Captain had you guys doing? Or...has this squad been that inactive and without a Captain? I mean, I just need to know where to start with you guys."

((Gah how i hate not playing as Torsin))

While Hikaru did lessen the gap between him , and his squad mates he still kept some distance. This was mainly out of habit made it easier for him if anything went wrong which while everything was fine Hikaru had spent enough time growing up in the Rukon District to know any situation could go from good to bad in a split of a second.

"Well Ma' am I joined right after you became captain so I don't know personally how things went around here."Hikaru said speaking for the first time he came in, but not a minute amount of emotion could even be felt in his words. However even with his voice calm, and void of emotions the loyalty he had within him was extremely relevant to any who paid close enough attention to him.

Angel scratched his head as his mind went back to the last captain, "Our last captain had us train with her and she taught us a move where we can leech our opponents reiatsu. Thats about it." Squad 2 has rarely done anything since captains started going in and out of it. Even the captain before the last one didnt do anything wit the squad. He shook his head as he looked at Yomiko, "What do you plan on doing captain?"
