Things I Shouldn't Think Of
Some days [those days when seconds drag by like a lazy child snug in his covers on a Monday morning being dragged out of bed] the Doctor contemplates.
For one so old and one who has seen so much, there is surprisingly little to think about. Well there is plenty to think about, it's just that, well...
So much he doesn't want to think about.
He made a list of these things and it went something like this when he wrote it down on a sheet of paper: [writing is much more fun than typing]
Things I Should Avoid Thinking About
Time Lords
Daleks
Time War
Parallel Universes
Katarina
Adric
Jamie
Zoe
Peri
Former Companions
And then the Doctor scrapped the sheet and decided that it was not necessary to go and list every single thing it wasn't pleasant to think about. That would take too long.
So he tried thinking about the most innocent thing he could conjure.
Nice architecture.
But then nice architecture led to thinking about the Eiffel Tower [fly down], and Paris, and Roman-
No.
He tried again.
Name every star you can.
Betelgeuse, Rigel, Badge for Mathematical Excellence-
No!
The Doctor came to the conclusion that sitting in your room thinking was a terrible idea and a waste of time and he should go rescue a planet or two or three or maybe even seven before he even thought of trying again.
He really hated those days when the seconds drag by...
