¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik got through the next set of classes without anything exciting happening. The first day of classes always seemed to be pretty laid back. Some might say it made the day boring; but he didn't care either way.
After the last class ended, Tarik went off to find Nephy. He needed to deal with her stupidity. It didn't take him long to find her. He made a common about the issue without revealing what he was actually talking about to the people around him. Then he pushed a ghost into her. Yes, she was now possessed. After mentioning that he'd meet up with her later tonight...the ghost Nephy left the school grounds.
After that was taking care of, Tarik walked off to get ready to leave. "You can't see them..."¤₪((I am SO dumb...I accidentally edited this post as if I was writing a new one. Like I really remember what I typed. So I am just gonna do a brief overview or something.))₪¤ "...but I can."

♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... There was a soundless jolt, and the old man's eyes widened. Without any warning, he stood up and closed the office door, then mumbled something while attaching pieces of paper that had hieroglyphs on them. Then he came back and sat down.
"You are not safe at this school. And yet, it was your destiny to come here. My lady, I welcome you." He bowed, putting his head to the floor.
Anput was starting to panic. What the hell was this crazy old man talking about? She was seriously considering just getting up and yanking open that door, then heading home. Everyone at this school was crazy. She shifted a little bit on the pillows, preparing to stand.
"Lady Anput, wait. Do not be afraid. I am the God of the Jackals, Sed. I am a loyal servant to you and your husband. You have nothing to fear from one such as me."
Anput paused, studying the old man. She vaguely remembered reading about Sed. He was part of Anubis' entourage and symbolized the continuation of a pharoah's power. There was very little folklore recorded about him, even concerning the festival named after him that was celebrated whenever a pharaoh had ruled for over thirty years. Not that she believed that he was Sed. That was just stupid. And what did he mean 'husband'? She wasn't even out of high school yet, much less married. Maybe he was senile...
"No, I am not senile, nor am I lying. I will show you my true form." The old man bowed his head and muttered an incantation. Impossibly, his body seemed to shift smoothly into a huge sitting jackal whose ears just barely touched the ceiling. His fur was a deep black with a tawny gold undercoat, so that with each move, you saw a shimmer of gold along with the black. The jackal blinked at her in amusement and wagged its tail as Anput stared in shock.
You are the goddess Anput, the Dark Mother and Lady of the Holy Land. You represent the female aspect of Anubis.
Anput managed to swallow and find words to speak. "Let's pretend I believe you for a moment. If I'm a goddess, why am I a human being? How come I can't just make people vanish or explode? Wouldn't I be all-knowing and all-seeing?"
The Jackal gave a little whuff of amusement and dipped its head.
Gods and goddesses are not all-powerful, and only a few can unmake living things. Also, why would you want to explode somebody? The Jackal's head tilted quizzically.
"I don't, I was just wondering."
The Jackal scratched its ear with a hind foot before answering.
Haven't you been able to see things that others can't? Known something was going to happen before it did?
Anput almost shook her head, then stopped. She'd seen the seemings of other Egyptian gods on other students today. And back in Colchester, she had seen a lot of creatures and people that others hadn't been able to see. Reluctantly, she nodded.
I will teach you to access your magic and to control it, do not worry. But tell no one who you are. You are quite unique among the gods and goddess' of this school and if they found out, you would be in great danger from them.
The Jackal shifted back into the guise of an old man, eyes twinkling merrily.
"If you look at your watch, I think you'll find that school is almost over. For your homework, I want you to take this home and read the first seven pages. I will ask you about them tomorrow."
He handed her a small, pocket-sized book with faded gold hieroglyphs on them. When she touched it, the hieroglyphs wiggled and rearranged themselves into English to read "Magicks of Egypt". She put in her pocket and started for the door, then stopped as she saw the paper seals on them.
"My apologies." The old man gestured and the seals disappeared in small bursts of flame. Anput nodded her thanks and left the room.
The halls were indeed full of students heading to leave, and Anput threaded her way through the crowds of chattering teenagers discussing what they were going to do after school. ☪★★★»»» »»»For Night's black Mantle covers all alike

¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik made his way into the hallway filled with students. The brunette turned to start walking in one particular direction. Soon he was greeted by Greg. They chatted a bit before the guy went off in a different direction. After a while, he arrived at his locker. As he opened it, he could hear a group of girls giggling about something. It was probably related to how cool he was or something lame like that. Whatever the case was, he ignored the giggles completely.
As Tarik shifted through the stuff in his locker, a couple of friends walked up to him. They did the normal greeting thing before asking about the day: among other things. Then they got around to saying what they really wanted to say.
"You're not doing anything late tonight are you? We are going to Duncan's. You should come."
Tarik stopped whatever it was he was doing and looked at the one that was inviting him. "Sorry," he began, "I have something to do."
"Oh come on. What could be more important than chillin' at Duncan's!?"
"If I can finish early...I will stop by," was all he said in response. It was highly unlikely that he'd be able to do that; but this guy was the type of person to say maybe to. It was just easier that way. Plus, it's not like he won't try to go. If he could he would.
"Well you better!" With that said, the two were off.
Tarik watched them leave as he thought. 'Duncan's huh?' One might think it was someones house; but that wasn't true. It was kind of like a secret hang out of some sorts: complicated to explain. Why were they going there on a Monday though?
Tarik turned his attention back to his locker and took out whatever it was he needed for later before shutting it again. The first day of school was over. Now it was time to focus on his after school activities. Of course he could have searched out Anput and spent some time with her; but he figured it would be best to leave her be for today. Still; if she took it upon herself to walk with him, or something of the sort, he wouldn't deny her. "You can't see them..."¤₪₪¤ "...but I can."

♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... Anput spotted a familiar-looking back and quickened her pace, weaving around slower students. It turned out to be Rick. She tapped him on one shoulder, then ducked around to the other side, causing him to first look one way, then the other.
"Hey. So, uh... Did your other classes go well?"
It wasn't the best opening statement she could have made, but it would have to do. Her brain wasn't quite functioning right after seeing that old guy transform into a huge jackal, so she supposed she could be excused. At least she wasn't running through the halls screaming bloody murder. Besides, the book in her hand only convinced her more about the truth of things. ☪★★★»»» »»»For Night's black Mantle covers all alike

¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik fell for the shoulder tapping trick before he realized it. Still, he didn't actual turn his head back too much: he mainly looked back with his eyes. A short laugh escaped his lips when his eyes rested on Anput. A knowing smile graced his features before the girl spoke. It seemed like she was a little more comfortable with him now: that was probably all because of Nephy getting them together during lunch.
"I guess..." he replied in a slightly bored tone. It's not like anything particular exciting happens on the first day of classes. "How about yours? Was the magic class anything like you expected?"
Tarik made sure his locker was locked before starting off down the hallway. Of course he made sure that she came with him. It's not like he was trying to lose her or something. He glanced over in her direction as she replied back. There definitely was a reason why he asked about the magic class; but he didn't want to actually talk about anything that might be fishy while they were still in school. He was just curious as to what might have happened during that one class. "You can't see them...""...but I can."

♜♜♞♜♜ Mine is the Night, with all her stars... ((I have a feeling this RP is going to die soon. If yous and mes has no one to be chased by, we're pretty much stuck. I'll PM the others soon, but if I get no responses, this is going to be shut down. crying ))
She laughed nervously when Rick asked about the magic class.
"Funny you should mention that. Have you taken it here?"
It was a probing question. She hadn't forgotten how, at lunch, he'd denied that this was a school for gods and goddesses, like Nephy had said it was. She knew it was true now, but did he? She didn't want to come across as a psycho nut after not believing Nephy this afternoon. Perhaps Rick simply didn't know it was a school for gods and goddesses. If that was so, it would probably be a bad idea to tell him.
She had to walk a little faster than usual to keep up with his long stride. It wasn't a tiring pace, just one that was a little faster than her normal mode. Anput like to amble along, taking in the sights and surroundings. At least, she did back in Colchester.
But would you have learned that Egyptian gods and goddesses really exist, much less attended class with them, had you stayed there? Even if you had, would you have believed it? Or been willing to try learning magic from an old guy who turns into a giant jackal? I think not! She guessed that she was more accepting of all this shocking information because she was in a strange new place. What was it her parents had said about moving? Oh yeah. "It's going to be a clean slate, darling." "Think of it as an adventure, just like in those myths you're constantly reading." "You don't know what kind of opportunities you'll find in a new city. Give it a chance." If only they knew. She mused for a moment, imagining what they would do if she told them she was actually a goddess. Probably lock her in a loony bin or send her to a shrink. ☪★★★»»» »»»For Night's black Mantle covers all alike

¤₪Tarik Akil Mubarak₪¤ ««----<¦ Known as ¦>----»» *Richard Mason* Tarik merely watched the girl as she responded nervously. Something happened in that class already. Well, he wasn't surprised considering who she was. The only thing is the fact that Anput might believe Nephy a bit more. It's not like he particularly cared if she found out; but it would be troublesome if she thought he lied before. Of course he didn't lie when she questioned him on the spot like that. He merely worded things in a way that would satisfy Anput and end the conversation. Ah well, it wasn't something worth worrying about at the moment.
"No. I don't need to take a class like that."
Normally people would just take that and think he just thought it was a waste of time; but he really didn't need to take a magic class. He also didn't need to take any ancient Egypt related class. Tarik already knew everything he needed to know about such things. His younger years were filled with weird teachings like that.
"Did something weird happen?" Tarik asked as he opened the front door and held it open for her. "We can go to a cafe and talk if you want..." he suggested as he watched her walk through the door. After letting the door go he caught up with her. There was a reason he mentioned going to a cafe: privacy. He knew the perfect one that would be away from prying eyes. Plus, the others that go there wouldn't pay attention to whatever weird conversation they might start having. It was also no where near the school or any teenage hotspots. Tarik started to jog down the stairs before jumping down the last few. He turned around and opened his arms out wide. "Come on. It'll be fun." After he finished a big warm smile appeared on his face. He had no idea what possessed him to do something like that. It wasn't something he'd normally do. At the same time, it wasn't really out of character. "You can't see them..."¤₪((Yea...I know what you mean. Hopefully it will be easier since school is ending for the summer.))₪¤ "...but I can."
