What is Genjutsu?
Genjutsu (Illusion Techniques) are techniques that use the chakra in the victim's nervous system to create illusions; an advanced intellectual Ninjutsu. The most commonly seen Genjutsu is simple creation of phantasms- causing the targeted person to hear, see, smell, taste and feel things that are not actually there in order to manipulate them; other applications of Genjutsu are rare.
There are several ways to counter Genjutsu. Because it uses the victim's own chakra against him, he can cancel the genjutsu by trying to stop, and thereby disrupt, his own chakra flow. This is called Genjutsu Kai (Illusion Technique Cancel). If this doesn't work, then the only way for the victim to cancel the Genjutsu is having someone else disrupt his chakra flow with theirs through body contact. It has also been seen that if a person caused themself a "shocking" pain (such as a stab wound or broken finger) that they will wake up as well. It should be noted, however, that in the case of some high-level Genjutsu techniques that even pain will not break the Jutsu. -

How should I use it in this Guild?
In this Guild to keep Genjutsu from causing too much confusion, as well as to give the user of Genjutsu their props, we have these Guidelines that one must follow:
1.) There are many Genjutsu's in the guild. When utilizing Genjutsu, they are like any other technique; a base format that one has to read in order to understand the technique. ( Or in other words, the description of the Genjutsu.) You must follow how the Genjutsu is initiated in order to deploy it.
2.) There are also Genjutsu, that indeed do not exhibit what is needed to deploy the technique. Or in other words, in the description, it is not specific on how the Genjutsu is deployed. In this case, you will have to follow this guideline. To deploy the Genjutsu, you must attack through at least ONE of the five senses:
-Hearing
-Seeing
-Touching
-Tasting (Rarely used)
-Smelling (Also very uncommon)
3.) Common sense is quite prominent when utilizing Genjutsu. If the technique, in it's description, leans towards attacking the opponent through, for example, visual means; don't use hearing. Because the technique is describing the use of tainting the opponent through visual means.

Combating Genjutsu
Combating Genjutsu has always been a big deal. It usually always causes a little bit of misunderstanding. So to try and avoid that, we have these Guildlines to keep the fear of Genjutsu quite prominent as well as keep it fair:
1.) To be trapped into a Genjutsu, the user will have to have been hit by one of the five senses. The Genjutsu-ist simply cannot just weave through hand seals and place a person into a Genjutsu. No, instead they must have had one of their five senses tainted.
2.) A victim of Genjutsu cannot rely on pain or Kai to always pull him/her out of a Genjutsu. Similarly, a person cannot break out of a Genjutsu immediately, as this would demean Genjutsu users and Genjutsu all together.
3.) A victim of Genjutsu cannot simply break out of the technique. They must know they are in a Genjutsu before attempting to break from it.
4.) Clans and Bloodlines that enable the user to see through Genjutsu are not permitted to instantaneously see through the technique. They too, must see that they are actually in a Genjutsu (and it must be reasonable) before they can reverse or break from the technique.
The Bonds of the Illusion Are Broken! (Breaking Free from Genjutsu)
Description: Taking everything above into consideration, now is time to learn how to break away from an illusion the unfortunate event that you are unable to break from it. Just to reiterate, you can only break from Genjutsu through Kai, an outside partner ( I.E Your partner sacrificing their chakra), Pain ( Although it can be rather significant if you are going that route), and through the utilization of Bloodline/Clan/etc, only after your character realizes they are in a Genjutsu in the first place.
