Hmm, well, it definitely wasn't as warm out as Iridian had first thought it was. That... could end up problematic, considering he had also vehemently refused to bring a coat. Not that it was an argument that was abnormal, but for once, he was beginning to regret it as the wind began kicking a chill around. Maybe if he had found some place warmer, since he was sure enough not eager to head back home.
He wasn't having any problems, per se, about home life. Quite the opposite, in fact: he was rather excited! Otomeza had been extremely hesitant about it, but with some coaxing, the boy had managed to convince her to let him take a walk around on his own. No guardian, no brother -- on his own. Although he knew that the fact was false, he couldn't help but feel as though this meant greater respect as an older kid. Not that he was looking forward to the increase in responsibilities those labels entailed...
With a quick halt in his steps, Iridian blinked, digging up a memory. He had just passed a shop, and caught sight of something... pink. Was that who he thought it was? Spinning around to look inside the front window more clearly, his question was confirmed, and his bright smile was replaced. He even momentarily forgot that he was cold until he stepped inside the doors, hit by an atmosphere that was much warmer. "Llujah!" he called, probably a little louder than intended. No question about it at all; he didn't even bother to make sure that the older boy wasn't in the middle of something first. A flaw, yes, but the kid was excited!

It was only by coincidence that Llujah happened to be in the same small cafe that Iridian would be at. Truth be told, it was not a place where the spawn would normally go under normal circumstances. Yes, he did spend a good few hours wasting time at a shopping mall, buying whatever he wanted to get his hand on - all of which was very normal behavior - but when he left and began walking back to his home, the preteen realized that: a) it was stupidly cold outside, and b) he was quite famished.
These two things posed a problem to Llu until he stumbled upon the little cafe. His first instinct was to walk right past and not even consider it, but the warm, soothing scent of coffee and chocolate was too much to bear. Besides that, it was cold outside! And so did Llu find himself in the homely little store, sitting comfortably on a fluffy, overstuffed couch and drinking a hot chocolate.
At the rather loud call of his name, Llu stopped mid-sip and turned towards the source of the sound. What he saw was a familiar - if not older - face, which completely lifted Llujah's mood. "Oh my God, Iridian! Is that you?" He did not need an answer to know that it was the young Gluttony spawn, though. Llu quickly put down his hot chocolate and rushed towards his no-longer-very-young friend. He gave the boy a large hug in greeting. "It's been such a long time since I've seen you! You've already grown, too! That's awesome!"

Apparently, Iridian's grin could, in fact, get brighter. It wasn't every day that the child was able to run into someone he had already established as a friend. In fact, now that he thought about it, this was only the second time, though the first he didn't completely mess up. A characteristic hop of glee that he had yet to outgrow since toddler-hood, and Iridian practically tackled Llujah in a return hug. With a giggle, he responded, "Who else would it be?" He was fairly positive that there wasn't anyone out in the world that looked quite like either one of them did, but this thought was merely a play on words.
Pausing, he had to think about it a moment before remembering that he had, indeed, grown since he had last seen Llu. As he moved a hand to the top of his own head, he elaborated, "Only grew jus' a little taller." At least, that's all it felt like had happened since then. "It has been a while since we last saw each other, hasn't it?" he snickered, "Must'a been why I forgot." If anything else had developed much since they had first met, it surely wasn't his mangled speech patterns. With a flick of his featherless wings, he added in play-threat, "If you're not careful, I'mma get bigger than you!"
He took a quick glace around the cafe, wondering where exactly it was that he had stepped in to -- he hadn't very well looked at the sign before his attention was absorbed elsewhere. Instead of taking note of what sort of store it was aloud, though, he merely stated, "S'warm in here, though. Was getting kinda cold outside." Simply a statement, and instead of dwelling on it, he opted to change the subject to something less in-passing. His excitement was back in no time, "How have you been anyway? Been anywhere interesting since the fair?" Themed amusement park, fair, seemed to be the same difference to him.

Happily, Llujah laughed. "I don't know who else! It's not like I know a lot of people with featherless wings and a tail like yours!" He jokingly flicked his finger against one of the said wings and released his friend from the hug. He pushed a lock of hair behind his pointed ears, being mindful to not snag it on any piercings or his horns. With that, he gave a cheerful smile and gestured towards his seat on the couch behind him. "Well... Do you wanna sit down or what?"
At the comment about Iridian's increasing height, Llujah smirked. "Oh, I doubt that'll be hard. I'm pretty dang short for my age, y'know." He retrieved his hot chocolate, tail twitching. He took a nice, long sip, savoring the flavor of it. A triumphant sigh came from him as he took the cup away from his lips and looked at Iridian.
"You're growing pretty fast, though. Soon, you'll probably be as old as me, I bet!" He blinked, bi-colored eyes a-glitter. Those same eyes gazed down into his cocoa cup at his friend's question. "I've been doing okay... School and whatnot. Not terribly exciting, but... bearable." Llu pursed his lips a bit at the thought of school, but he quickly regained his cheerful demeanor. "And what about you, Iridian? What fantastic and wondrous adventures have you been on since the park? And how's Cheyenne," he added, not wanting to forget the twin brother of his young friend. Where was Cheyenne, anyway...?

Iridian twitched one of his wings at the mention of it, as though the action placed them further in view. He was a little proud that the empty wing-tines of his made him that much more unforgettable, and he had to fight back the urge to poke Llujah with one in retort. He was still not the best at determining when he had poked too hard with one, as they weren't like normal limbs.
He perked at the offered seat, an action that surely meant that he could stay and spend time with his older friend. The glee snagged on his voice, he sharply nodded before he moved to sit in the seat situated next to Llu's claimed spot, "Sure would!" He just about knocked over a side table in his exuberance.
Once fully seated, Iridian had to think for a moment. He hadn't really thought about it before then, but Llujah really was short for his age, wasn't he? And, although the specifics were unknown to Iridian, Torekane's descendants tended toward the tall side as well. "Well, being short isn't all bad, and being tall isn't all it's cracked up to be," he suggested off-handedly, as though he were drawing from experience. He wasn't, but it was easy to imagine such instances.
But he was dwelling on the unimportant. He didn't know if he really wanted to be the same age as Llujah, if it came down to it. At such a young age, he was still stuck on the kind of worship someone younger offers to those that were older, as wanting to eventually be like while looking to as a guiding light. It hadn't yet occurred to him that the older populace treated the very young gingerly, untrue, and that Llujah was already talking to him with sincerity, as an equal and not as older-kid-to-younger-kid. Llu wasn't trying to be careful with the way he spoke, he was just naturally like that. Iridian may have been able to pinpoint that it felt better, but the reasoning wasn't coming to him.
A giggle escaped his mouth at Llu's description of school, but was quick to stifle it. A slight frown found it's way to his face in concern, as it didn't seem to be the usual irritation a student had with school. He didn't want to push the issue, however, so replied with simple remarks, "Takes a lot out of the day, huh? There are so many other things you could do 'sides dealing with school." His grin was wry.
He leaned back in his seat, trying to come up with something that he had been through since they had last met that could be considered 'fantastic and wondrous.' He was disappointed to find that things hadn't been that exciting, but played it with enough energy to seem as though there were a lot he could say. His words seemed to contradict his body language, but then again, it could be seen as his normal, excess energy. "Eh, same old for me as well. Only thing I can think of is that I tore my tail," he mildly indicated the hole in the webbing with a flick of his tail tip, "Everything else is rather boring!" He laughed before continuing, "As for Cheyenne, he's fine. Same grumpy self. It can get annoying." He felt a shiver run down his spine at the thought, but fought it from appearing. Cheyenne had actually been acting much more grumpy, and it was, in part, the reason why he had wanted to wander around on his own.
It was then that another thought entered his mind, "What kind of music do you like?"
