((For Aahiliki and Mchele :3.))
Aahiliki made her way slowly through the grass, following the vague scent of an ailing zebra as the sun beat down on her understated coat. Her eyelids hung half-closed over the bright orange of her eyes, shielding them somewhat from light and dirt. The lioness was thin, enough that her ribs could be made out underneath her fur, but not emaciated; she was simply normal, for a lonely rogue such as herself.
In her pursuit of prey, she'd crossed over the border of the Pridelands -- and realized it, too, but trespassing didn't concern her. She kept right on in search of her meal, two-toned tailtuft waving behind her as she picked up into a trot.

As usual Mchele was wandering his homeland. It had become a bit of a ritual of his to walk around the edges, just checking for any signs of his sister in case she came back early. But also as usual, there was no sign of her.
He sighed and drew a deep breath, which made him blink. He caught the faint whisp of scent, a grasseater of some sort. What made this more interesting though, was the abnormal tinge that indicated the animal was not as healthy as it should be. Well, he hadn't had breakfast yet and his stomach agreed with a grow of it's own.
He smiled a little to himself. "Alright then belly, shall we find our morning meal? It is the most important one of the day afterall." And once he'd finished talking to himself he began to head towards the source of the smell.

Aahiliki tracked on, paws landing with muted crunches in the grass. From what she could tell from the scent, she wasn't particularly close to the zebra yet -- not close enough to worry about being quiet, anyway. She would save her energy for when stealth and greater speed was needed.
As she loped easily on, her tail flagged up over the tops of the grasses; sometimes it seemed to wily appendage had a mind of its own, with its near-constant movements.
But then, over the sounds of her own travel, she thought she caught the sound of a voice. Her ears swiveled warily to detect any further trace of sound, and she twitched her nose, searching for other scents. She might not have had much regard for borders, but a territorial pridal could be a problem.

A decision made, the Pridelander wandered pointedly towards the herd, presumably where the scent was coming from. He wasn't expecting another lion out here though, and certainly not a non-pridelander. So seeing the tail bobbing along over the top of the tall grass caught him by surprise. "Mum? Is that you?" He hazzarded. It didn't look like his mother's tail, or any of the other lion's, but then he'd never really studied them too closely.
Not particularly afraid he changed direction to go meet the other lion. Why should he be concerned when he was in his homelands?

Aahiliki's ears -- and subsequently her tail -- fell, and then rose again. Discovered! But...by someone younger? So perhaps this was nothing to worry about, after all. But even so, the lioness still had a decision to make; she could turn now and flee, disappearing into the grass, or she could risk an encounter. For what?
Curiosity, mostly. And besides that, it wasn't so great a risk, was it? A lion out looking for his 'mum' surely wouldn't be a danger...and even if he did decide to rat her out, she'd have plenty of time to get away. Probably.
So with a sigh, she sat down to wait. Food later, hello first. "No, 'Mum' is not me," she declared in a gentle, but wear-roughened voice.

"Oh!" The unfamiliar voice made Mchele's ears perk up and his eyes blink in surprise. Well it wasn't quite what he was expecting and it was always surprise to stumple upon a stranger in any case.
He paused a second. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise.... I just thought... being in the pridelands and all..." He hazarded while taking slow steps forward and finally emerging from the tall grass and into view of each other.
He stopped and sat neatly, for a male, and looked at her to see if there was any familiarity. Nope none, he could only assume she was a rogue wandering through? Still, that was no excuse for manners and he remembered Uumi once telling him it was proper behaviour to introduce yourself before asking the name of the stranger.
"Ah, I'm Mchele and these are.. the Pridelands.. if you didn't know." His tone wasn't mean or threatening at all though, simply being informative in case the older female was unsure where she had traveled. "And who are you?"
