This is my first attempt at proper realism using my tablet; I've not been working long on it. A couple of hours maybe, but before I go back for a longer session working on it, I'd like a little help if possible on the anatomy.

Ignore the background; I'll most probably be redoing it and focusing for now on the character herself. The eyelashes, eyebrows and hair are going to be redone I think, as well as the eyes. I need to make the file bigger so I can refine details like that better once the skin is complete.

I think the nose and mouth are slightly off-center: they should be more to the left I think? I need to do more to the skin as well, but like I said it's just the anatomy I need to work on right at the moment.

If I had the bandwidth available to upload a redlined version, I would.

So here's a quick typed version.
Firstly, that painted skin is amazing. Wish I could do that.

I don't think the nose and mouth are the problem, a part from that the upper lip does look a tad bit plump...

I think it's acually (when looking at it how it is) the left eye and brow. They seem to be sitting higher then the right, so maybe bring it down and it probably would hurt to bring the eye a little closer to the nose.

Example: If I were to draw a line from under the right eye all the way across to left, they would be at the same level.

Then again, I'm not entirely sure how accurate my advice would be, but I hope it is of some use to you.
: D

I still wish I could paint skin like that.

Thankyou dragon! <33
Yeah I definately see what you mean about the height of the eye. I'll bring it in a little bit later and see if it looks any better, and make the upper lip slightly thinner as well. :3 Cheers!

I really like your color choices!

Here's a couple of tips:

For anatomy.. I think the shoulders could be just a little broader. I'm not sure if the thicker lines you drew that appear to separate the arms from the rest of the upper body are there for this reason, but if they are, they should start a little lower and be a little farther apart (making her chest less narrow).

The darkest shadow on the face tends to be under the nose (not the nostrils but like.. between the nose and the mouth) This shadow usually continues down to the chin (but is significantly lighter by the time it gets down there).

I hope that makes sense! Good luck.

Looks like you've posted this a few days ago, not sure if you are still looking for suggestions, but here's my two cents:

1 - Mirror the image, you'll notice a few distortions right away. smile
2 - Try avoid painting on white background. The color would be a lot richer and vivid if you start off with a toned background. The background color should be a muted color, preferably a muted complimentary color. If you aren't sure what muted color to use, it's always safe to use a greyish blue or brown. smile
