I bought some tea tree oil the other day, but holy crap this stuff is strong. Even after diluting it it gives me a headache after just using it as a spot treatment.
Also looking for natural shampoo alternatives. I have dry scalp (it could be dandruff, but I think it's dry scalp. Or perhaps the buildup of product from not rinsing well enough? Not sure, but I have to go so far as avoiding dark shirts because the back of my shirt will be covered in dandruff)

Well before going for shampoos, a few items have to be taken care off first.
1> are you washing your hair with hot water? Hot water will dry your scalp big time. lower the temperature for your head and see what happens. Might take a few days or a week or two to get results.
2> a little shampoo can go a long way. My brother tried this for a while. He used a bit less shampoo on his head, just to get the dirty feeling out of his head, the rinse got the suds out but it also didn't dry out his hair because not all the natural oils were washed away.
As for ache.
I only know how to get rid of the occasional pimple(s) that break out on me. moisten face. Toothpaste, rub it in, smooth and slippery, do the rest of your morning items, like teeth, hair, ...breakfast. XD Rinse. pat dry. Leaves you feeling minty fresh- biggrin

For dry hair, I put olive oil in it and let it sit. Works well for me. You're going to have oily hair for the next few washes, so time it around important events.

I had some really aggravating acne that I tried for years to find a solution for but I've been using this soap exclusively for over a ear now and I really don't have the breakouts anymore like I did before. It seems to help unclog the pores on my nose too. It's called Dr. Woods Pure Black Soap. Mind it's not the one with shea butter. Shea butter makes my acne worse. Purists could argue you can make pure black soap on your own and it would be even purer, but this stuff is really cheap and saves me searching for the ingredients.

I can teach you how to make your own anti-dandruff shampoo if you have a place you can burn wood.

Milk can also help with dry skin which is a factor that causes more acne. But I'm hearing in magazines ...sorry, can't recall which ones that milk could possibly be a factor in making acne worse on the face but I only use it around my top lip and just under my bottom lip, and I have no signs of breakouts just soft and moisturized skin.
My skin type is normal I guess I'd say, its a bit resistant to irritation and its oily and doesn't flake much but can dry out from acne medication but the milk helps to soothe it for me at least. I soak my lips in a handful of milk three times for a few minutes maybe 2-3x a wk, then splash a bit of water and the white, dry flakes are gone.

Tea Tree Oil is an acquired scent that's for sure. When I started using I couldn't stand the smell and it gave me headaches as well. But my mom kept pushing it on me and now i'm fine. So unfortunately that is what I use

Actually, lately I've been hearing that toothpaste doesn't really help acne? People are saying the menthol in toothpaste just irritates the problem area more, and it's really more of a placebo.
First I've heard of this, I use toothpaste all the time when I break out.

Shampoo = 1tbsp baking soda + 1c water + empty plastic bottle Conditioner = 1tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar + 1c water + empty plastic bottle Cost: $5 if you didn't have any of these yet, but it will last forever.
No seriously. Put in the baking soda one all over your scalp (not all of it just some), and then just sit there for a minute or two, then rinse it out. Then, your hair will feel all hard and stiff if it's long enough to feel such things, and you'll freak out and curse me for telling you to do this. Then you'll remember the vinegar, pour it through your hair until it feels shiny, and rinse a few times because you're worried you'll smell like vinegar all day otherwise. You won't, because it dries smell-less.
I've been using this for AGES. Months. It didn't solve my dandruff issues, but it did lessen them.
Bonus: it extends time between needing to wash your hair for most people. 3 days and I'm still optimal. And that's in summer when it's sweaty and hot.
Edit: Oh right pimples. Uh, at my cosmetology school they told us that any detergent (anything that foams, like soap) is not good for your face unless it is very rarely used. (I think they only added the "unless" to explain away why they used so much of it for facials) We used "cleansing milk" before every makeup application, followed by a water-based toner with no alcohol in it, followed by a water-based moisturizer. If that sounds like a lot of stuff to do, just remember "No suds and no alcohol applied to your face"
