LOG 4 (continued from previous logs) Quote: Sunny Daye was flying around, trying to find something to do. Life was boring, that was it, plain and simple. She was bored. There were no great battles to fight, no great foes to vanquish, nothing to DO. Life was boring. So she flew around, aimless. Oh she knew she could check in with her family, but they were all boring too. So she flew. A splash of pink in the water caught her eye. Pink...water? Coral maybe? No, it was moving. Curious, she swooped in for a better look. At least it would kill some time. Quote: Musette had swam away from her family some. She loved them, but she needed a break, especially from her father. He was so terribly high strung. If he didn't calm down, he was going to give himself a heart attack. And if they were the stress point, then maybe if she left some, he'd calm down. She pulled herself to a beach, not unlike the one where her parents met and closed her eyes. She spied the yellow speck in the sky, shining like a second sun. Odd. But not alarming. She began to sing, assuming whatever it was would move along. Her singing voice she got from her father. She'd heard him sing many times, but never sang herself before. She wanted to try it, however. Could she sing summon like her father? Would she sound miserable? One way to find out. She opened her mouth, and let the sound come forth. She hadn't planned what she was gonna sing, but the words came on their own. Odd lyrics that she never heard. “I don't wanna be like no one else... I'm gonna rescue myself...” Quote: Sunny blinked, hearing her sing. Well, she had already decided to descend, but now she had more reason. Something in the song struck a chord in her. Quote: “I can slay my own dragons, I can dream my own dreams. My knight in shinning armor is me. So I'm gonna set me free,” Musette continued. She noticed a shadow fall across her and looked up, seeing the very yellow pony descend. Very very yellow. Quote: Sunny landed on the shore and looked at the pony who had been singing. She was black and pink, clearly the pink she had seen from the sky. Once she landed however, she realized she had nothing to say. What did one say to a pony who wasn't family? Quote: Oh. She supposed that worked. “Hi.” Quote: “Did you want something?” Musette asked. This pony was certainly an odd one. And she'd never seen wings quite like that before. Quote: “Oh, right,” Sunny said, startled a bit. “I just came down to see what the pink thing in the water was. Quote: “Pink thing?” Musette asked.

Log 5 Quote: “Your hair,” Sunny clarified. Quote: “Oh,” Musette replied, then giggled a bit. “Pink thing,” she repeated, amused. Quote: Sunny stared at Musette. She had such a pretty giggle. It sounded almost like music. Music. Right. “What was that song you were singing?” she asked. Quote: “Song?” Musette echoed. Then she gave a small shrug, sending water rolling down her shoulders as she dipped them into the water then brought them out again. “Not sure,” she admitted. “I just wanted to sing and, well, that was what came out.” Quote: “Could you do it again?” Sunny asked her. Quote: “Do what?” Musette asked. She found she was parroting this odd pony a lot. Maybe that's what the pony was, a parrot. She grinned at the thought. A parrot, something that made others endlessly repeat what it said. That was amusing. Quote: “Sing,” Sunny asked, feeling herself get a bit frustrated. Quote: “Oh,” Musette replied, flushing the smallest bit, suddenly embarrassed. “I can try, but that last was my first time singing, I might be bad at it. Tone deaf or something. Just cause father can sing doesn't mean that..” she realized that she was babbling and shut her mouth. She took a deep breath. “Singing, right. Okay.” Quote: “Try anyway?” Sunny encouraged. Then, because she thought it was what she was supposed to say, “please?” Quote: Musette took several long breaths then nodded. “Alright, I'll try.” She closed her eyes and opened her mouth. Music issued forth. She leaned her head back as she sang, feeling the song course through her. Her flukes shuttered with the desire to dance. Oh how she wanted to dance, so baddy she wanted to dance. But she had an audience, one who couldn't follow her under water, so she kept herself there, swaying slightly with the power of the music running through her.

Log 6 (log 10 for Spark) Quote: Flying along, Spark heard the singing. He angled towards it. Below him he spotted a Mer. He knew what a mer was because his brother Solaris was one. But he had never seen one with wings like the yellow pony. He thought of flying back and asking his mother, but that would be boring. If he wanted to know what the odd yellow pony was, there was one fun and fast way to find out. He'd just have to ask. With a wide grin he angled until he was over her. This was gonna be fun. Quote: Sunny spotted a shadow as it fell across her. “What the...?” she asked and glanced up in time to see SOMETHING dropping at her. She scrambled, trying to get out of the way. Quote: Musette glanced up and saw the shadow too. She did the sensible thing. She dove deep. Quote: “DEATH FROM ABOVE!” Spark cried as he dropped onto the yellow pony. Quote: Just before he hit, her instinct kicked in, and with it, her fire shield A bubble of warmth surrounded her. Quote: Spark dropped onto the shield, and pulled up immediately He did a flip in the air and landed on his rump to look at his burned belly. It hurt! “What was that for?” he demanded, tears in his eyes from the pain. Quote: “What was that for?” Sunny cried out, echoing him in a furious screech as the grass under her feet burned. “You're the one dropping on people and yelling weird threats!” Quote: “The battle cry is essential,” Spark sniffled. Quote: “Battle cry?!” Sunny shrieked. “What battle? Where is there a battle? All I see is a nutso pony dropping on people without any warning!” Quote: “Without warning?” he asked, blinking. “But I did warn you, I yelled, DEATH FROM ABOVE! That's why the battle cry is essential, I think.”

Log 7 Quote: “You are insane!” Sunny shrieked at him. Quote: Spark's lip quivered Insane? No, he wasn't insane. She didn't have to be so mean! Quote: Musette resurfaced, pushing her wet hair back. “I'm sure it's not that bad,” she said soothingly. “Are you hurt?” she asked to Sunny Daye. Quote: “No, I'm not, I can protect myself from idiots,” Sunny replied, haughtily. Quote: “I'm not an idiot!” Spark protested. Quote: “Then you admit to being insane?” Sunny countered. Quote: “Calm down,” Musette soothed. “Why don't we all start again? Introduce ourselves?” Quote: “You want me to drop in again?” Spark asked, bounding to his feet, burns forgotten, excited. Quote: “Ah, I meant, we could all tell each other what our names are, and talk.” Like civilized ponies, she thought, but did not actually say out loud. She was not going to be the one to start a fight. They clearly needed a peacemaker, and without her mother there, Musette realized that the role probably fell best to her.

Log 8 Quote: “Oh, okay!” Spark said happily. “I'm Spark, and I can do electricity and air acrobatics and stuffs. My momma's really nice, and I have Seventeen brothers and sisters, oh and I' a super hero! My Hero name is spark. Was gonna be Frobove, like momma said, but that's too long. So it's Spark, just like my name, so it's easy to remember.” Quote: “Maybe you were right after all,” Musette muttered at Sunny under her breath. She hadn't even meant for anyone to hear her. Quote: “Do I really have to do this?” Sunny asked Musette, seeming not to have heard the comment. Quote: “Yes, please,” Musette requested. Quote: “Fine, but if you bail out without doing it too, I'm going to be really annoyed. I'm Sunny Daye, I don't believe YOU for a second,” she said to Spark, “And I can rescue myself, thank you very much. Could as a baby, can still now. Like that song you sang said, I can slay my own dragons.” Quote: “Why would you want to slay dragons?” Spark asked wide eyed. Electricity crackled between his wings. His sister, Somocking was a dragon. No one got to threaten his little sister like that! Quote: “I'm sure she means evil ones only!” Musette said quickly, watching the lightning play about the male. She swallowed, and for the first time in her life, she was well and thoroughly scared. She lived in water. Lightning was NOT her friend. He could fry her with a single misplayed bolt. She felt her dark skin paling, and her chest heaving as she faced what might well be her death. And the irony? He probably wouldn't even be aiming at her. Quote: “Evil?” Spark asked, eyeing them both now. He might be a joker and a kidder and love his fun, but no one got to pick on his sisters. NO ONE. Well, except maybe his other siblings, but that was different. Family had permission to pick on family. Quote: “If some one attacks me, I will defend myself,” Sunny snarled, her shield flaring, heating the water and air. Quote: Musette swallowed hard. Great, she was going to get burned either way, but if she left, they'd kill each other. And she doubted she could get away fast enough to escape the electricity. She knew what a lightning bolt did in water. It spread, that's what! She had to bring this to a fast end. NOW. “S... see! That's what she meant. Only dragons who attack her. If they don't attack her, she has no reason to slay them! Dragons that attack randomly might be evil, but I'm sure other dragons aren't. Please, if any gods are listening, please please PLEASE let whatever dragon or dragons he know not be the sort to attack randomly.

Log 9 Quote: “Oh,” Spark said, thinking about his sister a moment. Well, he didn't know her well, but had never heard of her attacking anyone. “Okay.” He let the lightning fade and gave them each a grin. Then he blinked and looked at Sunny. “you don't believe me? About what?” he asked, curiously. Quote: Musette was not about to let Sunny answered that, so she cut in to distract the blue peg. “I'm Musette, I have a few siblings, my mother is a sea pony, my father is an Earth, and his music summons her whenever she is trying to slip away. She loves him, but he can be a bit much at times, and he decided to protect her.” She flushed a dark pink, she hadn't meant to say all that. Quote: “Musette?” Sunny asked, not lowering her shield or looking away from the peg. “Nice name.” Quote: “Thanks,” Musette said, most of her attention likewise focused on the biggest threat. Not that she was feeling too safe near that shield either. But fire she could escape under water. “Like yours too, fits you.” Quote: “Nah,” Sunny said, still not looking at her. “Too girly.” Quote: “If you don't like your name,” Spark offered, “Why not just find a new one?” Quote: Sunny snarled. “Why don't you go find one for me?” she snapped. Quote: “Okay!” Spark said happily, and lifted off into the air. Quote: Musette stared after him, dumbfounded. Quote: Sunny was also watching him leave. “That... actually....worked?” she asked, incredulously.

Log 10!!!! Quote: “A... pparently...” Musette said, stunned. “Why did that work?” Quote: “I have no clue,” Sunny said, “but I'm not going to question it. Are you?” Quote: “Not a chance. He might come back and answer,” she said honestly before her mind caught up with her mouth. Quote: Sunny laughed and nodded. “Agreed. So.... what now?” Quote: “No clue,” Musette admitted. Quote: “Will you sing again?” Sunny asked. Quote: “Could you turn off or down the fire first?” She asked, a bit desperately “I'm drying out.” Quote: “What? Oh, yeah, sorry.” She turned off her shield, though she kept an ear open against the insane peg's return. “Better?” Quote: “Much,” Musette said, thankfully. “One moment, please.” She dove under the water, and swam until the warm dissipated and cool liquid flowed over her scales. She lingered in it a bit, then surfaced. “Perhaps,” she said once she swam back, “We should continue this elsewhere.” So Spark couldn't find them... she didn't say it.... but.... Quote: Sunny considered then nodded. “Good idea.” She thought a bit more, then said, “I saw an island a ways out to the north. There was a shade tree there that covered part of the water, we could hide out there, he couldn't find us from the sky. Let's go.” Without waiting for a reply, she flew across the water, leaving the pretty musical mare to follow.
