[Hex - Age 25]Unable to stand the smoky and loud gambling spots of the village, Hex ducked into one of the many drinking parlors that dotted the area. He wasn't a heavy drinker himself, but it was pleasant compared to some of the other places around. The only unfortunate thing about the parlor was that it was right next to one of the loudest gambling spots. From what he could hear, someone was on a hot streak. He couldn't figure out how such things could enthrall anyone but the person winning. He also wondered if the sounds would be different if someone was losing miserably. Did gambling addicts berate one another? Did they console one another? Did they try and find the brighter side if they lost their entire month's income? Whatever they did, they almost always did it loudly. He was determined to not let it bother him, though. He simply sipped at his small bowl of jasmine tea, closed his eyes, sat back against his seat, and tried to keep himself from acting rashly.
