How in the worlds was she supposed to answer THAT? Yeah, she should totally tell him how worthless he is, and how she is afraid he'll see that one day. Make him see it now. Yeah, that would be her brightest move ever. She'd try it... sometime after she tried cliff diving in a dry canyon. There had to be a way to distract him, something... something fun. He had fun with her, he seemed to like that. So... she just had to be fun for now. She could do that.
She forced her most wicked mischievous smile onto her face and pulled back to look at him. "Wanna go find someone to harass?" she asked, hoping he'd see her eyes as twinkling, rather than wet.

He smiled, "I am harassing someone. It just happens to be you." Universe let go of her and moved off. "But you don't seem to care for it, do you?"

How could she tell him that she could have handled it without batting an eye... from anyone else? That it was how much he mattered to her that made it hit her like a blow. She swallowed hard. He was right, she had to do something...
She moved to catch up to him, not sure what TO do... she hesitated, then tried kissing him. Maybe she could distract him this way, maybe she could convince him not to leave. She put her desperation to keep him with her into the kiss, trying to hard not to cry. What had she let herself care? why had she let herself love him? He would leave... one day he would realize exactly who she was... and he would leave. Like her parents had. But she would put that day off as long as she could....
