EDIT: OHMYGOSH, actual art (sort of) and I wrote some songs out on flute (which wasn't that hard, surprisingly) now all I need to do is play em' right and some how get them on my computer and find a way to upload them. Just so you know, if my art is a violation of all things artistic, it's because I am a relatively new to this drawing thing. Another this is NONE OF MY ART IS ORIGINAL! By that, I mean, I drew them, I scanned them, but I drew someone else's work since I'm not good enough (yet, hopefully I will before long) to draw on my own, I'll be sure to state the original artist if applicable. Music-wise, having played flute for almost all my life, I should have some skill with it, eh? Hopefully you'll like the songs of Sugiyama (or others) that I arranged for flute. Only problem is, I need to find a way to record them and upload them onto the computer, once I do, I'll go crazy with it and do as much flute for you as possible! HassanI'm a big narcissist and I draw pictures of myself , ahem, but anyway, after many rage faces, I could say that this would be my masterpiece. The man Toriyama is the original artist of course. Dragon Quest VI Box ArtKay, first drawing everrrr (that I actually gave an effort to draw) of course the original artist is Toriyama himself and it's my sort of artistic rendition of the box art of Dragon Quest VI. Aritean KnightsHere's some Fire Emblem art that IS ORIGINAL! I was bored and I opened Paint and screwed around and this was born. Leon (Star Ocean a Second Story)I forget his last name, but he's that bratty furry kid who's parents are scientists? Original artist unknown (sheesh artists of the internet, but your name on your pieces!) Chisato MadisonAnother SO2 artwork of mine from the same artist of my Leon one. I really like how well she turned out for me, Chisato is my favourite character in SO2 by the way. She's the clumsy black belt in Jujitsu news paper writer who stocks the heroes and writes articles on them. FirionI am a strange, strange man and really LOVE Final Fantasy II, and the cover art always give me inspiration, so what the heck? I drew it! Of course the original artist is whoever does the early FF series (drawing a blank at the moment) Meta KnightSo apparently, I actually have an artistic history and I dug this drawing out of wherever it was in my room and scanned it, oh baby, check out that mad shading skills I apparently did! Speculating the artist that does Kirby is the one who I based this off of.

It's all good, Hassan. Copying the pros is one of the best ways to learn, as long as you don't trace. I'd be glad to see what you've done. All art is welcome.
I'd love to hear some of your flutework. One of my brothers does a lot of music recording on his computer, so I'll ask him about it when he wakes up or isn't out partying.

You mentioned not knowing where to start with DQ music. Well, if you are a flautist, the flying themes from DQ IV and V come to mind, as well as that midnight stroll music if you can wrangle some accompaniment.
A quick google search reveals that there are some books full of DQ music for the Piano., available from a game music website. I'm not sure about flute, but it probably wouldn't be too difficult to stick to the upper hand. Not to mention you're a fan, and I'm sure you can fill in some cracks by ear.
There must be something else out there... I know a gal (my mom) who sometimes writes out music. I can ask her about arranging by ear.

Not bad for a first shot, Hassan. I see you are copying original art. Did you trace it or draw it yourself? Because if you trace it, you won't learn a darn thing. If you just copied it by eye, that's a teeny bit better.
When I gain access to a scanner, maybe I can spare some tips. It's a shame I don't have one close to me with 24-hour access. I wanted to do some DQVI release themed valentines.
I'VE BEEN DREAMING ABOUT YOU ALL NIGHT LONG, BABY.
DON'T TERRY ANOTHER MINUTE LONGER.
And I totally wanted to draw one with Hassan holding a chisel next to a tree with a heart carved into it reading "H + You."

No, I drew them myself, the paper I'm drawing on is too thick to trace on anyway. It's good I did okay for my first try, I'm rather void of inspiration at the moment sadly. Art isn't my fortissimo in life, but it is relaxing and fun being left handed and having a black palm after drawing. xD Anyway, I'll upload the rest and share them sometime, although they're from another gaming series called Star Ocean.

That's fine. Upload what art you want. If I can upload my Golden Sun stuff, you can upload that.
I'm right-handed and always have a multicolored palm after drawing. I hold the pencil weird, you see.

If I had some more talent, and a recording device, I would place a recording of me playing the Dark World theme from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on here. I've been playing trumpet for quite sometime. If you guys ever want to hear something, send me some sheet music of it and I will attempt it.

How long have you been playing trumpet? If I knew how to compose trumpet music, I totally would write some songs for you. I wrote the original FE recruitment song the other day for flute. If you know how to compose/transpose, I'm sure it would sound great on trumpet, SSBM agrees. : D

I started back in 6th grade, missed 7th grade, and have been in since...about 6 years or so. I just wish I knew how to transpose and compose music. I would enjoy that.

New arts is here and I even linked everything so it's not just a big "artistic" tower anymore! For flute, I wrote like enough songs to publish a "Dragon Quest/Warrior for flute" but lack a microphone to play into. -__-
And Nom, I need some trumpet music as an example (that's in your comfort zone to play) so if I do write/transpose some music for trumpet, I won't write in too high or low in the clef for you.

The Lolwut Pear FirionI am a strange, strange man and really LOVE Final Fantasy II, and the cover art always give me inspiration, so what the heck? I drew it! Of course the original artist is whoever does the early FF series (drawing a blank at the moment) Have I ever told you that I have a humongous, mushy soft spot for FF2? I played it while I was recovering from surgery back in eighth grade, and it helped me get though that very difficult time. So it has a lot of nostalgia value for me. I feel reinvigorated whenever I hear the Rebel Army theme, it's so magical. Also, the cover art was done by one of my favorite artists ever, Yoshitaka Amano. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love that guy. I have a huge artbook of stuff from all across his career. He's still doing art for FF, like the logos and some concept art, but Tetsuya Nomura is (unfortunately) the series' mainstay now. I don't want to hate on Nomura too much, so I won't say much. I mean, his style is okay, and he has improved a bit over the years, but my god... He is the biggest hack in the gaming industry. I'll stop there. Also, I like the Meta Knight picture. The composition is cool, and the simple shapes and colors make it appealingly bold.

No, you didn't tell me about that, I'm sorry that you had to go through such a thing at such a young age. I know just getting stitches on my lip (I have a miniature Oguma like scar just above my lip from my cousin throwing me into a glass table because we were dumb and amateur wannabe Judo experts at the time) was enough for me not to ever want to go back to the hospital. Have you ever heard the FF2 FC (Famicom just in case anyone's not familiar with it) soundtrack? I know I am a major sucker for 8bit music, but the soundtrack is just phenomenal, almost as epic as DWIV's. I kind of like them both (although Tetsuya really needs to get over his belt fetish, it's getting kind of redundant IMO), but I'm with you on Yoshitaka being better. His art had so many magical details in them that it was impossible to look at and not be lost into looking at the character and try and point out all the small but significant details within them. Since this is an art thread, I should point out that Tomomi Kobayashi (does the artwork to the rather underrated SaGa Series [ x] is my favourite video game artist of all time, although I wouldn't dream of trying to draw something to that epic proportion. While we're on the note of SaGa Frontier, I'd also like to give some love to Kenji Ito who is without a doubt: THE most underrated video game composer ever ( proof). Although Sugiyama is my favourite, Ito is very high in my tier mainly due to his love for the bass lines in his songs which quite honestly, a lot of composers out there like to forget. Finally, just because we're all musicians here, Miss Miki Higashino take the reign of second most underrated composer of all time ( example) <- just the one small, minute thing that Fire Emblem lacks is a battle map song to this epic standard. xD Here's some gameplay of Genso Suikoden if anyone's interested, it's mainly of the war maps (the game is divided into three battle situations: normal RPG battles, duels and wars), but it plays sort of like the Fire Emblem games, but instead of commanding individual soldiers, you're commanding a whole freakin' army! EDIT: Just to avoid confusion/FE syndrome, the red are allies and the blue are enemies. >_> Then just cause. I'm sorry for the video overload, once I start talking about a video game, I just can't seem to stop, oh and I just might go through a Valkyrie Profile phase sometime too because I love that game and I know we all like our Motoi Sakuraba. Thank you for your comment toward the Meta Knight, I think I drew it in my tenth year high school so that's why it looks kind of worn, I personally find pencil crayon to be amazing to work with. : P
