We all know that the Seahawks (7-9) made it to the playoffs. With a home field advantage, some fans are questioning the playoff system. With teams such as the Bucs and Giants (both 10-6) missing the playoffs. What do you guys think about this?
Personally: I think it's fine. They won their division fairly. Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

I Think My Bucs at 10-6 and LAP's Giants at 10-6 would make much more interesting playoff games and could go further than the wildcard round....its a sack of s**t. you should have to be 8-8 to even get in, division winner or not.

I have no complaints about it. You win your division, you deserve to make it into the playoffs, no ifs, ands or buts. This isn't the first time a division winner with a poor record made it in while a team with a superior record missed the playoffs. People are making a bigger deal out of this only because the Seahawks are 7-9. If they would have finished 8-8 this would have been water under the bridge.
I think a good compromise to this, and the whole 18 game regular season bid is this, expand the playoffs to 8 teams per conference instead of 6. Why have two extra weeks of the regular season when 1, players have a hard time staying healthy during a 16 game regular season? 2. Teams are having a hard enough time selling out 8 home games alone? and 3. teams like the Panthers, Broncos and Bengals have to endure two additional meaningless games after their season is already over? Expand the Wild card teams so the teams that get extra games are the ones who deserve it. Teams like the 10-6 bucs and giants still make it in despite having a division winner with a worse record, that way we can kill two birds with one stone.
Of course the down side would be that the #1 and #2 seed teams will loose their bye week the first round of the playoffs, but I think this makes it fair for every team in the playoffs, you must win 3 games to make it into the Superbowl.
And that's what I have to say on the matter.

I think its great the way it is. They won their division and they have the right to get in. 7-9 and winning the division just goes to show how tough and crazy that division was that season. Then they went and upset the previous Champs. Grats to them. Even if the Giants and Buc's were 10-6, they didn't win their Division. And they were even given a chance for the Wildcard to get in, but they didn't.
