I discovered the wiccan religion and wanted to learn more about it. Well come to find out my grandma studied it. When my family found out everyone but my brother hated me or said i should be checked into a psyche ward.
This started two years ago and to this day i still get hateful looks from them someone help. i want to be at peace with my family

So you think your family hates you just because you were looking into a different religion? Well, you could try talking to them about it to find out if there are other issues that are bothering them.

Also, a lot of people don't know what Wicca is. They think it's something dark and evil that must involve killing the neighborhood cats or something. So it probably wouldn't hurt to explain what it really is and assure them that you're not killing the neighborhood cats or anything crazy like that.

But if nothing else is bothering them, if they understand what you believe, if you're not confusing Wicca with something else and killing neighborhood cats as a result, and yet they still hate you, then they might just be hateful people who are going to hate anyone who's different. And if that's the case, I don't know if you truly even can be at peace with them unless you pretend to be just like them. But that wouldn't really be healthy. So if that ends up being the case, you might just have to live your life and cut certain people out of it.

I go through the same thing. I wanted to become a wiccan. If I did, I'd loose my family.

Needless to say, since I told my family I was bi, my father treats me different. My family doesn't always treat me the same (they can be very crule) since I told them I no longer believe in the Christan god

That's so sad. I'm very sorry to hear it. I was accually crying over that last night. It really hurts when your father treats you different becuase you're bi. Mine always tells me how homosexuality is an abonimation. That I'll rot in hell forever. And if someone mentions one of my sisters being gay, he says I better ruins his daughters

dude, I live in Florida, with a Wiccan mom and a Hindi stepdad. xd I'm a literal b*****d-child, and I don't look ANYTHING like my siblings. I am an Occultist and an History-buff, and I have a Black Cat with a blind eye, and a White-and-Orange Cat who used to be stray.

in Florida.

a good 85% of my home State hates me and my whole Family.

Sink your teeth into forever...

Aww! D= I'm so sorry about all that..

But my advice would be:
Talk to them about your beliefs... Tell them you're free to choose what you believe because you are. They have no control because they're not you. Tell them it's also hurting you that they just can't accept you for who you are. And if they just can't love you for being you... then they don't deserve to have you in life....

And before i suggest this.. how old are you? are you able to go live on your own? If you're old enough and are able to... You could try going and living by yourself... completely cut them out of your life... ignore everything from them... Yeah, it'll hurt... a lot... but give them a taste of how you feel... if they don't like it, they might start to accept you... if not... they're obviously not worth the trouble...

Now I'll be honest... I don't know much about this kinda stuff... Cause I have a loving family... (well mostly... me and my siblings don't get along much =P) and my parents give us control of out beliefs, music we like, and everything... I told them I didn't believe in any god at all... they were fine with it... and I actually love having this... I just hate knowing others are so selfish and judgmental so they'll start hating their family if their family is different from them... -.-

You can stay in a stern voice something like "I'm me, I make my choices of sexual orientation, beliefs, and everything in my life... You don't have control of the way I am. And if you don't like that, then goodbye for life."

The only thing you just shouldn't do is make an argument out of it.... maybe you can also go to family therapy.. one of my friends is in it, and she says it has brought her and her mom closer... =3

I'm very fortunate that my mother, who is Christian, understands why I don't believe in her religion and while she thinks that I'm damming myself (presuming that her beliefs are right), she still loves and cares for me and believes that I should be free to believe what I want. My dad is like me in that he doesn't really belive in the Bible either.

When dealing with Christians, it's best to use the Bible against them. Show them the flaws of their so-called "Holy Book". Does your family eat shrimp, lobster, or anything similar? Show them Leviticus 11:10. That way you can say, "If I'm going to hell for being Wiccan, then you are going to hell for eating shrimp! It's in your precious Bible!"

Does your father/brothers/male family members shave/trim their beards? Show them Leviticus 19:27. Does your family eat pork, ham, and/or bacon? Show them Leviticus 11:8. Look at your families clothing and see what they are made of. If they are made of mutiple types of fabric (such as 60% cotton, 40% pollyester) then show you family Leviticus 19:19. Some other verses to show them how flawed the Bible is are Leviticus 18:19, Deuteronomy 22:13-21, Deuteronomy 25:11-12, and Mark 12:18-27.

If, after showing your family these verses, they ignore them/say they don't count and persist on using the Bible against homosexuality and the practice of other beliefs besides Christianity, then tell them that they are hypocrites who are only using the Bible to justify their prejudice against those who are different than them. If they still refuse to see the truth, then it may be best to cut your ties with them.
