The Line - The Line is something I discovered during my time on various MMOs. It is the thin (very thin) separation between what is part of a roleplay and what is real. Mainly, keep in-character drama IN-CHARACTER. I don't give a rat's a** if someone thinks your character is a whore. It's a character, fiction. It doesn't matter. Let's not lose friendships over something silly and fictional, alright?
Metagaming and YOU - Metagaming is a bad, bad thing. It is using out of character knowledge to influence the way your character reacts to certain events. This goes hand-in-hand with The Line. If someone says "Hey, I think I am going to try and kill so-and-so", your character doesn't know about it. Because it wasn't said IN-CHARACTER. Don't pull that s**t with me, because it won't fly.
Powerplaying and Godmodding - Big no no. You are not God. You are not all-mighty. If you do not leave room for the opponent to react to your attacks, if you FORCE things on someone, etc....you will be in big trouble. Let's respect one another, okay?
We don't like porn, ya digg? - Keep things PG13, alright? If you want to get freaky with your character's boyfriend/girlfriend, do it someplace besides the open forums. Also, don't be overly grotesque with your descriptions. Let's not having each other vomit.
Literacy is a MUST - Literacy is something that should be prevalent in every single Role Play within this board. For some people on gaia, English is not your first language. I understand. But please try and use correct spelling, grammar, etc. No one-liners PERIOD. Posts must consist of at least five WELL-CONSTRUCTED sentences.
Use your good sense - Use logic when you RP. Use reasoning. Use scholarly sources to uphold your stance behind your stories and your characters. Use logic to determine what can and cannot be possible (i.e. dragon-vampire hybrids, pregnant zombies, etc.). A good RPer is able to work within the limitations of logic even in fiction, and still produce a WONDERFUL story.
Don't whine - Whining is stupid and there's no place for it here. I won't even elaborate on it, because it speaks for itself.
Leave yo drama at the door - Got a problem with someone? Is someone breaking one of these rules? Send a PM to me or the Captain. Don't call them out OOCly in the thread. You'll just be warned and the OOC comment removed. So don't waste your time.
All rights are belong to us - Both myself and the Captain have the right to modify, delete or add to these rules as we see fit. If something new pops up, you will be notified, so don't worry!
