The newly grown wizard was extremely pleased with himself for achieving such a feat. Not only was he dashingly handsome (as always, the wizard thought), he was tall enough to reach everything in the house. At last! The squeaky, cracking voice he had had for weeks had deepened into a pleasant baritone.

There was only one small issue Howl had with his growth spurt. There were no girls for him to celebrate with. The boy's newly regained hormones were a whirlwind of confusing emotions--even for someone who lacked a heart. Even more so, since he was not required to love the person he spent said hormones on.

He flipped on the tv almost lazily, and sat on the couch with regained grace. "Hm..." He didn't see anything particularly interesting as he went through the channels. Time for an old (or new) favorite. He took a dvd out of its case and put it in the blu-ray player. Now to wait. Maybe a girl would show up at his door. The wizard had a firm belief in luck.

Gods and devils be damned, where had that girl gotten off too? Especially in the dead of winter like this! Darcy'd been scouring all over the place for hours, trying to locate the purple-haired teen. So far, she'd come up empty handed and she couldn't feel her nose thanks to the cold. The Azoulai huffed, tugging the collar of her coat up in a fruitless move to garner more warmth from her coat. The girl paused in front of a house, fishing around in her pockets before pulling a crumpled slip of notebook paper out. She glanced, skimming and comparing the address on the slip of paper to the house. Yep, she had the right one.

Hopefully, Jaella was here, paying Howl or his father a visit. It was doubtful, but she could hope, right? Darcy pocketed the slip of paper before advancing to the door, hand knocking sharply on the door before it was shoved into her pockets. Even if the girl wasn't here, it'd be an opportunity to get out of the bitter cold, if only momentarily.

Howl hurried to the door, smiling as he opened it. Darcy? Darcy was the girl he was destined to watch a movie with? He hated Darcy! Oh well, if this was what the fates had decided, he'd take it. "Right on time," he said, taking her arm and dragging her inside. "Sit down," he instructed. "You look frozen."

Not that he cared; he personally thought Darcy deserved all the hell she was given. He summoned a mug of steaming hot chocolate and offered it to her. "Here," he said. "We're watching a movie. I'll make the popcorn." With a flick of the hand, a large bowl of popcorn appeared on the coffee table. "Is there anything else you'd like?" he asked.

If he couldn't turn Darcy into a toad like he'd like, he could at least torture her with kindness. Of the forced variety.

Darcy blinked as she was suddenly pulled inside the house by a tall person. "Hey, what do you th-" She paused mid-flail to realize who it was. Howl? When in blazes did he grow? And why was he touching her, let alone dragging her inside. "I'd love to sit, but really, I can't stay too long. I-"

Again, she cut off mid sentence as a mug of hot cocoa was held out to her. Slightly confused, she took it. Didn't Howl loathe and despise her? What on Gaia.... "Howl, I can't stay and watch a movie." she said, setting the cup down on the coffee table carefully. "I just came here to see if Jaella was here. It's clear she's not, so I really should get back to finding her. You know, before it gets any colder."

She had no idea what the boy was up to, but she wasn't going to fall for it. Not for a moment.

"Jaella? Jaella's shopping," Howl said dismissively. "Why didn't you do a divining spell? They're simple, and you wouldn't have to come searching. I'm glad you did, though," he added quickly. "So really, you have no excuse to--" he pressed play on the blu-ray remote, before smirking. "No excuse to leave. It's freezing, besides, the movie's already playing."

He paused and studied her. "It would be rude to leave, when I've gone to all the trouble of putting on an enjoyable evening for you. I thought we could use this time to talk about important matters while enjoying each other's company."

The wizard smirked, and sat down. "We might consider it a date."

"I'll keep that in mind next time." the orange-haired girl responded dryly. If she could cast a divining spell, she would have done so before hand. Honestly. "It's not that cold out." Darcy said, lying through her still-shaking teeth. She did not like this. Not one bit.

"I thought you hated me." she pointed out, still eying him warily. "Generally, when you hate somone, you don't invite them to watch a movie with you." A small frown crossed her features. "It'd be rude to leave Aaron at the house, not knowing that Jaella's is okay and not knowing where I was. And really, I am quite busy. I should be going." The girl made her way towards the door. "I appreciate the hospitality, but really. I got to go."

"You're not a witch," Howl pointed out casually. He had been hoping to catch her. "Where do you get your magic? Do you steal it from somewhere?" He paused, and frowned. Why did she want to leave so badly? He thought he had grown "Not that cold? It's four degrees out. Even if you were the Witch of the Waste, I wouldn't let you out." He was lying through his teeth, and knew it. He had personally put an end to said Witch.

"I don't hate you," he lied again. "I dislike you. But that is why we should talk. You can call Aaron to tell him where you are." He moved his hand and the door shut with a click. "I told you, it's rude to leave when someone's gone and set up a date. The movie's playing, so watch it with me. And discuss when you're bringing my son."

Pale green eyes narrowed at the wizard, arms folding in an instant. Looked like someone had struck a nerve. "I DON'T steal my magic. And it's none of your bloody business." the girl snapped, all niceness seeping out of her tone. "And I will have you know I come from a long line of swamp witches, thank you very much."

The sound of the lock clicked with finality. Looks like she'd be staying a bit. "Fine, I'll watch the movie." she muttered, her tone sulky. Psh, like she had any intentions of discussing that with him; awkward situation was already awkward enough. No need to bring the kid she'd left in Ingary into the mix.

Howl seemed to find this all very funny. "A swamp witch?" he asked with a laugh. "A swamp witch with no magic what so ever. That must be awful," he added, suddenly going serious. "I can't imagine life without magic." He could; though even as a child in Wales, he had always had a knack for causing things to happen. It had never gone checked, until he had gone to college.

He smiled then, and nodded. "Thought you'd see things my way," he said. "Popcorn?" He offered her the bowl, taking a handful himself. "So what have you been up to?" he asked. "Ruining people's happily ever afters again?"
