I've recently been wondering about voodooism, what does everyone know about it?

I'm not entirely certain, but mostly that the idea of it comes from vodoun, a hybrid of african and christian beliefs that some slaves followed. and hell, i dont even know that that really did exist(seems likely though.)

I don't really know much about it other than that it combines Christian beliefs with African beliefs.
There was a Voodoo museum in New Orleans and I went there before Katrina. It was pretty cool.

Voodoo
It is a mixture of African and Christian belife, mainly practiced in the southern states.
It is basically the same beliefes as Christianity (God, Devil, Heaven, Hell) but it practices the dark arts, such as taking a doll of someone and poking needles through it or doing Satonic Rituals.

From which I understand, Vodun is the religion. Voodoo is just what hollywood decided upon, and thus, distorting the image of vodun.

Vodun is a religion that can still be found today in Haiti. It is a mixture of an African religion, and Christianity. Magic is used in rituals and followers believe that magic is an everyday occurance, and that spirits are found wandering the earth. If a Vodun shaman or priest goes into a trance during a ritual, he or she is meeting a spirit, or talking with the dead. If a magician were to take a trip to Haiti and performed a simple card trick, the Haitians would refer to it as voodoo. Vodun is a religion of voodoo (magic). The term "vodun" actually came from another word of African origin that means "spirit". I hoped this helped enough for you guys. This is what a year of giving voodoo tours can do to a person. xp
@Peace Love And Skate: Yes, hollywood did alter the concept of voodoo. Now everyone believes it to be old, black, hag women in graveyards poking sewing needles in to a doll that represents an enemy.
