Mahuika stared at the other pup, not quite sure how to take this. This whole thing sounded like something her sister would scheme up! Between Yakone's prattling on about puppy-eating caves and now this pup's insistence about the moon, Mahui was starting to think that the world was going nuts.
Either that, or maybe she just wasn't able to hear the things that others did, and that annoyed her even more. Tomkin was, after all, the realm of the spirits....and she wasn't even sure if she believed in spirits.
But, something seemed to have spooked the other pup, judging from how briskly she took off! Mahuika glanced over her shoulder, wondering what it had been, and bounded after her. "That sounds okay," she admitted. A big open field sounded almost exotic, honestly. She was used to rivers and big damp caves. Lots of places to hide, but not a lot of places to run.

Tsukiko continued to the field. Every few meters or so, she would glance back at the pup and behind as well. She would get grounded for sure if she was caught, especially being out with a non-pack member.
"Good. I don't really want to get into trouble if we wake up my parents either." She says as she continues on. After another minute or so, she felt it was safe enough to return to their normal pace and slowed down for Mahui. "Now, did you have a specific game you wanted to play? Usually my brothers and sisters only wrestle in the field and run through it looking for bugs and small animals." She sounded more calm now that they were away from what had scared her.

"What are you looking for?" She asked. At every step she'd turn to peer back over her shoulder, searching out the source of whatever was spooking her companion, and never seeing much of anything.
Then, quite out of the blue, "Tsukiko, do you believe in ghosts?"

Tsukiko shook her head. "N-nothing." She says quietly. "It's gone now." She turns back to Mahuika.
"Ghosts? I guess. I haven't really given it much thought. Do you believe in them?" She asks, tilting her head in curiosity. "I always thought they came out to scare others off their territory."

Now, that was an interesting question, honestly. Did she believe in ghosts? "Not...not really," she said, with a little hesitation. She thought about her sister Yakone and that damn cave -- these two would really get along, she thought -- but also about the beliefs of her pack at large. "Maybe. I don't know. The pack I'm from, it's called The Land of the Spirits, and lots of us believe in...spirits."
Granted, many were spirits of those they had killed. But, details.
She shrugged. "So if it's not a ghost you're looking for, what did you think was following us?"
