Already made a post about this but I figured I'd post it here as well.
"I need to preface this by saying that it is incredibly hard to find the words for what we've been seeing. It really is one of those "You had to be there" kind of situations.
For the past two weeks my friend has been noticing flickering lights outside of his neighbors house in her yard. There is no real uniformity to the lights though they usually look almost like someone flicking a lighter. Normally we'd dismiss it as simple fireflies but it's December.
Tonight he told me about them and while out for a smoke (cigarettes, we aren't tripping balls) we saw the lights flicker a few times and I thought "That's pretty interesting but nothing too weird" but then the second time we went out it was different. The lights happened more frequently and as my friend started to walk towards the yard for a better view we saw the light... form? It seemed to materialize and covered nearly a 3 square foot area before evaporating. My friend told me that it's never really happened like that before, though there have been lights brighter than the rest.
The third time we went out we brought along his iPhone to try and catch it on video, we filmed for a good 30-40 seconds before stopping catching only one light. Or so we thought. When reviewing the footage we could see a second flickering light that was red, neither of us saw it with our naked eye.
I have to say that both my friend and I are skeptics and neither of us are even going to attempt to explain why it's happening. We're going to do our best to catch better footage, though it's hard with A) A camera not designed for low-light and B) The lights being so completely random.
tl;dr We're seeing freaky s**t, now read what I wrote you lazy b*****d.
2:15am Update: We went back out after posting this for a good 10 minutes with the camera and a pair of binoculars, we didn't see any flickering lights but while moving around we could catch a reflection off of the fence in her yard (reflecting off of a light on my friends garage). However we had to physically move ourselves around to make it happen, the other times we saw it we were standing still. This also does not explain the literal ball of light that we saw (that was in an almost elliptical shape). There is also a red flashing light (obviously man-made) but we couldn't see that from his front door. Still no damn explanation, starting to get on my nerves but I did get myself to move a good 50ft closer to the house. Going back out later after some Halo Reach and we are definitely checking the yard out tomorrow morning in the light. (Staying by his house, don't want the cops called).
4:50AM: Still nothing -.-
7:50AM: Checked out the yard, nothing there out of the ordinary that would explain them. The lights they were happening in the middle of her yard with nothing around. "
After tonight we finally uploaded the footage, it's pretty bad quality and doesn't really capture it though.
