Mizuna Kahlran ~ Saiyan Hybrid

Far away from Skull Valley and unaware that her fellow hybrids were in danger, Mizuna Kahlran was busy with her training. As much as she wanted to go out and see the world, this was apparently necessary. After all, if she did not know how to fly or anything like that, then what good would she be? After all, everyone had to learn how to fly and fire ki blasts and what not. Otherwise they'd have other techniques but not be able to make them more awesome. Plus she'd just be totally useless back in Skull Valley right now. If worse came to worse, she might just be one of the last hybrids left alive and would have to continue on the saiyan hybrid line or whatever.

Today she planned on learning everything really fast with the help of her teacher. She was a pretty nice teacher, although if Mizuna mouthed off then the woman would not take it. She sort of reminded the red head of her mother, now her mother was a great woman. But for now, it was time to focus on her training. First on the list was flight. Out in the main courtyard where all training took place, her teacher had finished explaining to her the principles on how to fly. The idea was to manipulate her ki, to focus it so that it would lift her off of the ground. It was hard at first, but with her own natural ability as part saiyan, Mizuna was soon lifting off the ground and flying around. "Good." called her instructor, the woman staying on the ground and watching her fly. "Now come on back down, we've got more training to do before you can go off on your own." With a nod of her head, Mizuna descended from the sky and back to solid ground.

"Okay, next we'll move on to ki sensing. Might be a little boring but it is crucial if you want to find where your opponent is." said her trainer, already guessing that Mizuna would find this part of her training to be dull. Of course the red head knew this would be essential, especially if she did not want people dropping in on her and taking her by surprise. Sighing softly, she gave a nod of her head and waited for instructions. "Alright, now just close your eyes and be patient. You might have a knack for fighting and such, but you will still need to wait and focus. Just feel the life and energy around you, reach out with your mind and senses." Seemed a little zen to Mizuna, but she trusted that the other knew what she was talking about.

Closing her eyes, focusing on her surroundings with her mind, it took her a little while to reach out and to be able to feel something. It was vague at first, just a small feeling that Mizuna was not even sure was there. Yet the more she kept at it, the more she could feel her teacher's ki and life energy. "Okay, starting to feel it..." said Mizuna, keeping her focus going so that she could still hang on to that feeling.

"Good... keep at it." replied her instructor, starting to take steps back and further the distance. When the feeling began to grow fainter, Mizuna was almost tempted to open up her eyes. Yet she kept them closed, realizing that her teacher was creating distance. This seemed to be a necessity of sorts, she would have to learn to sense ki from different ranges. Right now she would not really be able to feel much or feel it from too far away, but she could manage to keep up just a little bit as her teacher moved around the court yard at different distances.

Soon she was beginning to point, showing that she knew where the woman was. Seeming satisfied, the woman walked back over to her student and said "Good... let's move on to something more exciting that you'll like, ki blasts."

This caused Mizuna's eyes to open, a smile coming to her face that turned into a small smirk. Using her ki for something more cool and destructive was something that would catch her interest. What would be better than making things blow up? "Thought you might like that." replied the instructor, smirking softly as well before she turned and pointed to freshly set targets up at the end of the court yard. "See those targets? Focus your ki into the palm of your hand, make sure you're taking aim and then fire off the blast of ki."

Certainly that seemed simple enough to Mizuna. She had a knack for this, ki was something of a specialty in a way. Moving to stand so that she was now facing the targets, se held out her hand, palm facing them. All she'd been doing so far today was focusing her ki, so this really must not have been different. The red head held her hand, fingers apart but not spread far apart, more of a relaxed way to hold her hand out. Mizuna focused her ki to the palm of her hand. The green ki began to form into a ball, small at first but then it slowly began to grow. Until finally it was about as big as the palm of her hand and ready to fire off. Soon it shot out, sent flying towards the target in the middle. The middle target exploded, most disintegrating or small debris falling around on the nearby ground.

"Just as I thought, nice shot." said the instructor, giving a slight nod of her head. Feeling satisfied that she was moving along fairly quickly, Mizuna turned her head to look to the woman, waiting for more instructions. "Alright, one more technique then we'll break for lunch. This technique is called Powering Up. Basically, you can bring up your power level to show off or you can bring it down to try and hide it from other people so you can fly under the radar." After seeing her student give a nod of the head, the woman began to explain how to focus and how to suppress, it was all simple enough since it was a sort set of tips on what to do.

With the instructions given, Mizuna moved into position and got ready. Slightly crouched, hands balled into fists, brow knit in concentration as she began focusing her energy. It wasn't much, but her apple green ki began to form around her, growing and showing off her meager power. Then she lowered it, enough so that it was a mere blip that would show on anyone's radar. "Good, good, you're proceeding along quite well. Now let's take a break, I'm sure you're starving." As much as Mizuna wanted to keep going, her stomach was starting to growl. Apparently that was another thing she got from her Saiyan blood, a ravenous appetite. Standing up straight, Mizuna followed her teacher back into the academy and right to the cafeteria. The place was stocked with good, freshly made food and the smell of it was making the saiyan hybrid all the more hungry.

Picking up a tray, a bowl, and a pair of chop sticks and spoon, Mizuna began piling food onto her plate. It was not anything as outrageous as what Goku or Vegeta might do, but it was a bit more than an average human male. Ribs, rice, steamed vegetables, more meat, some fruit, meat... it was a hearty meal to say the least. It would keep her nice and full until dinner time, then she'd have to figure out where she would be able to get her next meal. Ah well, she was sure there would be a nice dinosaur out in the wild that she would be able to kill and eat. Once her meal was complete, with plenty of water to wash it down with, Mizuna joined her teacher at a table and began to dig in. "So, what are you going to do after you're done learning here?" asked her instructor, eating her modest meal at a more slow pace than the red head.

"Dunno, might go back to Skull Valley, learn some techniques... then do whatever I want I guess." replied Mizune, tearing meat off the rib bones as she ate. It wasn't exactly slob-like, but it was not lady like either. As far as Mizuna was concerned, so long as she did not get her face messy or make a mess around her, what was the big deal?

"Oh really... you don't plan on becoming some villain now, do you?" asked her teacher, obviously teaching but it was obvious that it was a serious question. Giving a snort, Mizuna replied "No, that's too much of a pain, but if people try to tell me what to do, I might smack 'em around." Starting on her rice, she heard her instructor give a small chuckle before they both worked on finishing their meals. Once they were both finished and had let their food digest, the two women went outside and were ready to get back to training. "Alright, next is an important technique known as the energy shield. If you're in a jam and you can't dodge, then you just use your ki to form a shield around you to protect yourself." Another simple thing that would be easy for Mizuna to do. With all of this training, she was getting much better at manipulating her ki so this was bound to be a breeze.

By simply focusing her ki, Mizuna began to focus her energy to form around her and spread out into a shield. Once it was ready, the red head brought her arms up before her face, crossing at the wrist with the inside of her arms facing her. The green ki formed around her in a shield that stopped as soon as it hit the ground, the rest covering her body all over in a sort of dome. It certainly made Mizuna feel safe, although with her power level it was not bound to deflect much. Satisfied that she had the technique down, Mizuna let the shield drop and the ki fade away. "Alright, that seems easy enough for you to do, now to move on to some more difficult techniques. These ones might take you awhile." Motioning for Mizuna to follow her, the woman took to the sky and her student followed.

Guessing that this would require them to have more room to do this, the red head followed as far up into the sky as the instructor did. They were about twenty stories above the academy, it was a pretty good view of the city but the view was the last thing on Mizuna's mind. "I'm surprised that you're not worn out yet... but we'll see by the end of this. Anyway, this next technique is known as Solar Flare." Showing how the technique was supposed to be deployed without actually using it, she continued "It's another good way to defend yourself, you have to close your eyes so you won't blind yourself. Then you blind your own opponent so that you can get away." Interesting, she was not sure if she would ever use it, but Mizuna knew that it would be a useful technique to keep for later.

"Alright, gimme a minute I guess." said Mizuna, closing her eyes and bringing her hands near her face. The palms were turned towards her face and the fingers spread out a bit. Focusing her ki, the red head closed her eyes before saying "Solar Flare!" Although she could not see what was happening, she could feel the ki release. Her instructor would have to shield her eyes as there was a flash of blinding light that came from Mizuna. The flash would not last for too long, the red head was not strong enough to make it super blinding or to make it last for long. Once the glare had gone away, the instructor removed her arm from in front of her eyes and Mizuna opened her eyes. "Yeah, I think you got that down. Good, that just leaves you with one more technique to learn and then all of your training here is complete." Finally, after this was done, she could head out into the world and do as she pleased.

Granted, Mizuna would miss her teacher, the woman was plenty of fun, but there was much more in the world to see than just this. Not to mention all of the different techniques that she could learn. Waiting patiently, not speaking so that it was all the more obvious she was waiting, the instructor soon told Mizuna what the next technique was. "Alright, this last technique is called the After Image technique. You're going to move so fast that you leave behind an after image of yourself. You can use it to dodge attacks and fool opponents if they don't catch on immediately that it is an after image." If this was more about speed, then Mizuna was sure that she would be able to do this right. She may not have been super fast, that was something that would have to come through with more training. But right now she may be able to move fast enough so that she could leave some sort of after image behind. It would probably be brief and hard to see, but anything would be a good start for the moment.

Although since it would not be so easy as her to try and do it without incentive, her tutor focused ki into her hands and began blasting them at her. They were not going fast, but it would be good if she could move faster to avoid them. Mizuna began moving this way and that, doing her best to avoid the blasts of ki with her own natural speed. To speed up, she'd probably have to focus her ki. After all, considering she could fly using it, she could probably use her ki to increase her own speed. While it was hard to do, focusing while dodging, the red head managed to get her ki to get going. Before long, she dodged a ki blast and left an after image behind. Of course, her instructor turned and blocked and incoming axe kick aimed for her head. "Nice one..." she said, grabbing the other's ankle before spinning and flinging Mizuna away. "But not nice enough!" she added, grinning as the saiyan hybrid turned herself upright.

"Hey, I had to take a shot." said Mizuna, grinning as her teacher floated closer. Then in the next second she moved in close and began throwing punches. Of course, she was not quite fast enough to keep up with the other woman, who began pushing her punches aside and dodging. "Besides, it's good for me to stretch my limbs, I've been bored stiff at this academy!" Even though she was not landing any punches, it was good exercise and she was having fun. The style of fighting her father had taught her as a child really showed through, it was a classic saiyan style where it could be all about power and brute force, but more refined for speed and reflexes. It seemed as if her instructor found the style interesting and was having fun as well. She even began throwing punches as well that Mizuna dodged or blocked. Of course, the red head could sort of tell that the other was holding back on her speed. Ah well, maybe one day she would come back and spar with the other.

Of course, their good time was cut short when someone called out to them. This person was another tutor at the school who was flying up to meet them. Both the women stopped hearing him call out and Mizuna's eyes widened hearing his words. Skull Valley was under attack? "Mizuna, you shouldn't..."

"Forget that!" replied the red head, not wanting to just sit around while her father and mother were there. Turning in the direction she knew her home was, Mizuna flew off as fast as she could towards where the action was.
