Hello, and welcome to the Ask Thread Community. This subforum plays host to characters’ Ask Threads, which are question-and-answer based threads in which a character (usually the host of the thread) answers the random questions of visiting posters. While the discussions may be related to Guildverse roleplaying, the threads are considered AU and any events within do not affect actual Guildverse roleplay plots.

One Lump of Sugar or Two? The History of Ask Threads Ask Threads as we know them originated in the Harry Potter Subforum. The first successful, long-running Ask Thread was Ask Remus & Sirius, which reached around 300 pages between the first and second incarnation of the thread. A year following Remus and Sirius’s triumph among forum regulars, the Ask Thread concept caught fever and spread like wildfire across the subforum - suddenly there were Ask Ginny Weasley and Ask Luna Lovegood threads clogging the front page of the Harry Potter Subforum, with homoerotic flirting and drunken debates shooting to dozens of pages while site moderators looked on in horror. Gone were discussions, gone were theory threads, gone was the subforum; it had become a pool house of half-dressed Harry Potters hosting tea parties and telling posters about their opinions on socks, their hopes and dreams, and the REAL reason for stalking Draco Malfoy.
And, holy s**t, those were the days.
It was not until the Harry Potter Subforum Moderators had finally had enough that the rainbow-streaked chaos ceased. They raised the banhammer and brought it down on the spam-riddled roleplay threads, sending the accounts scattering and their fans raising torches and pitchforks in objection. And object they did, for many weeks, while the Ask Threads rotted in the Chatterbox without chatter and questions to hold them afloat. Accounts were left bare and threads slipped into cold oblivion.
Oh, there were attempts to assemble the old gang again. Spin-off guilds, a couple of private threads. But it was a dead unicorn propped up on sticks at that point.
