Discussions

Discussions are topics inviting other posters to join in a conversation about a particular topic; in this case, a conversation about an aspect of fanwork making, be it technique, difficulties, inspiration, etc.

These types of threads must conform to the following guidelines:
• Threads must be related to aspects of the storyline/universe.
• You should have a correlating title that appropriately represents the thread's contents.
• The first post should contain discussable content; posts containing little substance may be moved.
• You are expected to allow the voicing of multiple/opposing opinions.

Personal Threads

In this case, personal threads are considered fanwork havens for a particular person or group. These threads can serve a variety of purposes: tracking fanwork-related progress (such as writing 100 drabbles or drawing 30 characters), discussing fanwork projects, making or accepting requests, etc.

These types of threads must conform to the following guidelines:
• You must CLEARLY state if your thread is either private or open to anyone posting.
• Make any thread rules visible and comprehensible. Enforce them.
• Try to encourage posters to keep up with the thread through contests, banners, polls, or discussion.

Fanwork Sharing

Threads made for the sole purpose of sharing something you created - a banner, a drabble, some art - are welcome so long as they pertain to the guild in some way. Remember that the Gaiaonline Rules & Guidelines do not allow adult content or content fraught with graphic violence or drug use to be posted on this site. Better to go with Livejournal for that.

These types of threads must conform to the following guidelines:
• You must CLEARLY state if you desire serious critiques, or if you are open for suggestions on improvement.
• The first post should contain discussable content; posts containing little substance may be moved.

Prompts & Challenges

Prompts and challenges are made to encourage posters to make fanworks on command, whether it be with inspiration from a prompt, or simply goaded by the allure of a challenge. In this subforum, prompts/challenges cannot be rewarded beyond the satisfaction of a completed fanwork - to reward monetarily would make them contests, which belong in the Marketplace Subforum.

These types of threads must conform to the following guidelines:
• You are not permitted to dictate who can and who can’t take on a prompt/challenge. Welcome multiple perspectives and don’t judge others based on their style/ability.
• Try to encourage posters to keep up with the thread through banners, polls, or discussion.
