The Sōkyoku Hill is an iconic, large, rocky mesa located at the center of Seireitei in Soul Society, where it is overlooked by the Shrine of Penitence. The hill is visible from most of Seireitei and is one of the most easily recognizable locations in Bleach. It has sheer cliffs on all sides. There are two known access points to the Sōkyoku Hill - a long bridge connecting to the Shrine of Penitence complex and a long, zigzagging stairway carved into one side of the Hill. One end of the Hill is heavily undercut. It is at this point that the Sōkyoku and the bridge are located. The opposite end is covered by white forest. Located below is a large meadow surrounded by Sakura trees, cutting it off from the surrounding alleys and buildings of the Seireitei. In the side of the Hill is a hole obscured by shrubbery and is this easy to miss. In this hole is a pair of large doors that lead to a large cave-like area within the Hill that was created by the Hakase siblings. It is lined with Sekkiseki and is thus ideal for hiding out.
