"The one becomes eight.
For each of them, one is made.
But one is broken."
XXXThe boy stared at the odd little poem scrawled on the piece of paper. "What do you think Blake?" Whispered the girl that was sitting next to him, chewing on her lip. He glanced at her, then back at the poem. She always sounded so nervous and shy...evident by her shaking whispers and how she only made eye contract through the bangs of her blue and platinum blonde hair.
XXX"Hmm..." He murmured to himself for a moment. "Well Lucy...It is certainly interesting...but what do these pronouns stand for?" He asked, looking at her with one brow raised, unsure of the true meaning behind her poem."
XXX"Well..." she mumbled, looking down as she twiddled her thumbs. "I'm not sure...I just...felt like that was what I had to write...like I couldn't help myself." She chewed a little harder on her lip. He didn't like it...
XXXBlake sighed softly. "Well...it really is an interesting little poem..." He said, hoping to make sure that he didn't hurt her feelings. Those words seemed to do the trick and she stopped chewing on her lip, glancing up at him through her lashes.
XXX"Really?" She whispered, causing him to nod in response. Before he could say anything, there was suddenly a loud burst of voices and the two of them looked down towards the football field, watching what seemed to be a fight unfolding between some of the players.
XXXBlake rolled his eyes. "So much for their practice." He murmured bitterly, having no particular like towards the 'jocks' on the football team. Lucy nodded absently, not particularly interested in what was going on down on the field. He handed her back the slip of paper before standing, putting his hands in the pocket of his black jeans, causing Lucy to frown and look up at him. "Well...this place is getting annoying again...so let's get going." Lucy nodded in response, stuffing the paper into her messenger bag and standing with him.
XXXShe followed Blake as he trudged down the bleachers, his black jacket fluttering around behind him since he never bothered to zip it up. Lucy on the other hand, had her own black jacket zipped up, though her black and blue plaid skirt fluttered around her thighs as she bounced down the bleachers. "You...don't have to work tonight...right?" she asked hesitantly, not wanting to look at him, so she looked down at her cute little black shoes instead.
XXXHe glanced back at her and nodded. "Right. I will have to work tomorrow though...and Saturday." She nodded, fiddling with her hands behind her back as they reached the ground and started to walk towards the parking lot. She chewed on her lip for a time, as if debating what to say next, then eventually took a deep breath before speaking.
XXX"Soo...if you aren't busy...can we hang out tonight? I mean...if it's no trouble..." Her voice trailed off at the end and she looked back down at her shoes. Blake looked back at her, one brow raised, somewhat puzzled by how she was acting.
XXX"Well...I guess that would be fine, though I have some homework to do." She stopped chewing on her lip and nodded, looking at him one again.
XXX"That's okay...I have some homework too...so we can do it together." She tried to smile, even though she didn't feel any joy.
