The day that Jason had recieved the letter was the morning after a snow storm had blown through his neighborhood. Trash cans were knocked down from winds and streets and sidewalks alike were given a generous coating of ice. But after taking one glance at his car, which was completely frozen, he took off in a full sprint without a speck of fear upon his features. He took a quick break just outside of the lab's doors to make sure he didn't break a bone from a fall a mile behind him and when all checked out well he made his way to the door. A hand was raised awkwardly for a knock but a welcome sign caught his eye and with a simple turn and push of the door he wandered inside.
"Hello?" He called upon entrance, soon flashing another gleeful smile as the next exclamation escaped his mouth. "I'm here to pick up my daughter!"

At the desk, a small freckled woman with a thick braid behind her head and small round glasses blinked up at him. "Um...okay? I assume you're adopting and want a girl then?" she asked, cocking her head to the side. Apoxi had been tucking in some of the kids and making sure none had caught fevers playing out in the snow, so she was dressed in her medical outfit, rather than her usual clothes. The only sign she was anything other than full fledged hospital staff was that she was wearing fuzzy slippers rather than something like crocs, as really, this was essentially her house.

Jason's wide grin leveled into a calm, reserved smile once Apoxi spoke. "Well, yes." He replied, chuckling lightly. "I've been eager to adopt for a while now and I finally settled on here just a month or two ago!"
He made his way to the desk then while answering the question of gender. "I already have two wonderful twin boys at home and I've always wanted to know what it was like to have a daughter." Gray-blue eyes gazed off to the side for a second before he laughed again. "Plus my girlfriend needs a little girl to talk about 'girl only things.' She's the only girl in the house at the moment."
As he finished his sentence he gazed at Apoxi's outfit, stopping at her fuzzy slippered feet and exclaiming. "I wish I could wear fuzzy slippers to work!"

"Well I live here so she really can't tell me I can't wear them." Apoxi commented with a bright smile before stretching, "Anyway, what sort of girl would you like? Any ideas?"
