As Junichiro traveled from the West City Academy, he had some minor adventures along the way. He took care of some bad thugs trying to extort a man out of his money in a back alley using his enhanced combat training to lay them all flat. He only left before the man could thank him. He didnt need thanks for doing what was right. Each movement he made was for the power and expansion of good. Of course there were others in the path of life he encountered that thought him a freak for having a tail, but that didnt change the fact that Juni didnt bear them any ill will. He had a spirit of justice inside of his body, and he was going to remain pure to that, even if people didnt like him for his appearance. He believed in letting his actions speak for themselves.
As he flew up in the sky, Junichiro was headed for a place known as Dende's look-out to continue his training. It was the spot that most strong earth folks went to when it came time to continue their training. "I wonder what these Dende and Mister Popo people are like? I hope they are nice." He remarked to himself as he soared like a bird over the hills and valleys below him. Flying was a peaceful experience, and the world seemed like nothing was wrong with it as he watched the life below him.
As the clouds passed by Junichiro, it brought him back to the times when he would lay in a field with his instructor, Lee Sin, and watch them pass by. It was a time of meditation that the two shared with each other during his upbringing that helped him discover his inner strength and purpose in life. Juni was meant to be a hero and protector of the defensless, and it was unchangable as it was his destiny.
While the young hybrid reflected back on his past while flying, he finally had arrived at his destination. Dende's look out seemed to hover well above the clouds and was impressive as it floated there. There was no other structure like it on earth, and Junichiro was brought speechless by it's granduer as he got closer and closer to it. Before he finally landed, on the look-out's deck, he noticed a strange black bodied man in a turban standing there with his arms folded. Junichiro thought that the person must be the famous Mister Popo who trained defenders of earth since before history books existed. As Juni landed and walked toward Mister Popo, the black being grinned and spoke in a tone that seemed to never change. "Welcome... I've been expecting you." Mister Popo said as his beady eyes stared back at Junichiro who was bowing politely. "It's an honor, Mister Popo. My name is Junichiro Kagemaru." He said enthusiastically as he looked to his soon to be instructor. "Hmmm.. Interesting, you resemble one of the many I trained so long ago... but it is of no matter, Junichiro... You will be tested and tried, and beaten, but in the end you will be a strong defender of this planet." The little black genie said to the saiyan-hybrid. "First... you will go choose a room in the guest wing, and begin setting up there, and then you will begin your training under me." He said in continuation, pointing to an area across the way. The building itself seemed to have multiple floors and plenty of room for trainees and visitors, and so Junichiro was confident in the acommidations. "Arigatou, Mister Popo sensei." He said with a bow and a punch of his fist into his hand. "Dont thank me just yet... you're going to work for that room, and work hard." The black genie said ominously before floating off to go water some plants. "Come back to me once you're settled." were the last words popo spoke as he continued his rounds of the plants. He was not just a master instructor, but also a care-taker of the lookouts.
It wasnt until after Junichiro had selected a place to take residence and to place his belongings that he decided he was settled enough to go back and meet with Popo to begin the intense training that the Genie was sure to put him through. Rumor had it that Popo was no easy instructor and could be quite the hard a** when it came to serving as a student, and it was this fact that scared many off from even seeking the elder earth guardian for training. These rumors didnt scare the hybrid saiyan boy as he had trained under Master Lee Sin in the Monkey Style of the Xiaolin arts, and he couldnt imagine anyone being a bigger hard a** but a memorable instructor than the elder monk.
After looking around the look-out's deck for a while, Junichiro finally found Mister Popo sitting under a tree, while levitating with his arms folded, his eyes fixed on Junichiro as if they had been watching him the whole entire time. "You took longer than expected... Now it's time for you to train. And now to gauge your strength with a test." Mister Popo said before stepping forward as he opened a portal into what looked like an arena. "Step inside, and face your fears." He said with an honest look on his face to the young Saiyan-hybrid. "Sure! I can do anything if I put my mind to it." Juni replied before rushing into the training area that Popo had conjured up. "Bye~..." Popo said before he closed the entrance behind Junichiro. "Hmmm..He'll be back~." He said to himself as he folded his arms and waited.
Upon entering the strange arena, Juni noticed it was empty, except for just himself. It looked just like a roman colluseum of ages past, and it only made his suspicions perked as he waited for some form of attack. "Face my fears... huh... but there's nothing here?" He grumbled to himself as he looked around the empty arena. Then everything came to a rumble as the arena shook and a loud roar pierced the area before a Great Ape busted through the doors of the opposite side of the arena. The beast brought a sense of forboading into the mind of Junichiro as it was unlike anything he had ever encountered before, however he could feel that if he didnt fight it, that beast would kill him without thinking... wait a moment... Why had Popo put him in another dimension with a being that was bent on ripping him apart?! Oh this just topped anything that Lee Sin had -ever- put Junichiro through. As the beast roared and began to charge at Jun, he felt himself frozen in fear momentarily before he suddenly pulled an After Image manuever behind the beast out of pure instinct. He had never felt these emotions before, or this sense of urgency as he fought something that was intent on making him mince meat pie. Juni pulled his hands infront of his chest and began charging a large ammount of ki energy before he thrust foward, firing off a burst of fuscia colored power to bust that giant monkey's bunker before he could get it's bearings on were Juni had flickered to. "Kyyaaaaah! Galik Gun!!!" He shouted as he put his effort into roasting through the back of the monkey and pushing the beam through it's chest. As he did this, however, the scene melted away and he felt himself falling into blackness before... thud.. he found himself laying on his back, looking up at Mister Popo who was standing above him with his arms folded and his beady eyes fixed on Jun's own blue orbs. "You figure out what you're afraid of?" The genie asked Junichiro with a flat tone to his voice. To be honest, the Saiyan-Hybrid had been unable to figure out why the Great Ape scared him, or how his body reacted like it did when having been faced with such a threat. "I'll take your pause as a 'No, Mister Popo.'" The black being said as he turned and then looked up to the sky. "You were scared of the monster that lurks inside of you... weather you are conciously aware of it or not." He said before looking back to Junichiro who was standing up from the ground and dusting off his clothes. "Somewere deep inside of you, that beast brought fear to your very core, didnt it?" Popo asked Jun who was listening to the lecture. "Yeah, Mister Popo, but the question is... you said the 'Monster inside of me.' but... I dont have any monsters inside of me? Do I?" He asked honestly of the elder genie. It was a perplexing idea to the Hybrid that he held any sort of pressence in himself that was monstrous and not protective like that destructive beast. "You will learn more of your heritage in time... but for now, young Junichiro... do not look at the moon when it is full." The genie said to his student with his arms folded before turning to look at him. "I'll bet that raises a lot of questions, but... there's no time for those. You've still got lunch to eat, and weights to train with, and if you slack off, a cane beating from master Dendei to take." He said with a smile to Junichiro who bowed formally to his sensei, Mister Popo, before he dashed off to go eat his lunch.
As Junichiro went to go eat what had been prepared by Korin, the eternal cat, he thought about everything he had learned so far from just the test of his fears from Mister Popo. It was a deep meaning that just seemed to lurk out of the young Hybrid's grasp, and what did he mean by "Dont look at the full moon?" Still, it was in Juni's wisdom and respect that he would oblidge and not look at the full moon less it prove to do something terrible. There was still much to learn and he wasnt going to betray Mister Popo's trust by trying to advance faster or test boundaries he wasnt meant to test. He had even pushed the thoughts from his mind as he chowed down on rice and a piece of sashimi tuna. Some might view the meal as a meager one, but it was full of nutrients and energy that he would need when it came to training. The power the rice would give him through the carbohydrates and the protein that would build up his physique from the fish were like blessings from nature and a reward from his hosts as they were investing in his skills for him to become a defender of earth worth mentioning.
After lunch was finished, Junichiro did as instructed and went to go train with the weights in the weight room. Using the iron slabs attached to the bars to do curls. The repititions of the curling motions were working his biceps and improving his form so that he would become a stronger fighter when it came down to business. "One, two, three... One, two, three..." He counted off with each movement of his arms in an up and down motion of the curls. He was doing with with one-hundred and fifty pound weights in each hand, and that might be impressive for a normal human, however he had something more that made him above normal limits of the human form. Lifting the weights was also a bit of fun for Junichiro as it gave him some goals to work for when it came to his training. He would have to be one of the world's strongest when it came to the task of fighting evil, and it was all of the effort he put into the task at hand that would make the difference.
After a while of doing dumbell curls, Juni put the weights up and began to work on his bench press technique. He figured two-hundred pounds would be a good starting place with that technique as he lifted the weights off the rack and began to pump them up and down as he lay on the bench. His arms rippled under the weight and strain, but it was all for his better growth and if he slacked off, Popo had threatend that Dendei, the Namek who owned the place would beat him with a stick, and Juni wasnt sure how he felt about being beaten with a stick by a green guy. Weight lifting of this type was meant to strengthen the chest and triceps, which were important when insuring you could take a hit, as well as producing strong punches. Juni knew that a strong body, also meant stronger ki, and the ability to produce more blasts and to fight for longer periods of time without rest. "I can do this..." He muttered to himself while he pumped the iron bar with the weights attached up and down, repeating the motions over and over until he had finally completed twenty sets of thirty repititions on the bench.
After he had finished putting the bench back in order and had racked his weights, Junichiro then began to do some cardio on a stationary bike to let his body warm down and relax so that his musscles didnt tense up and strains didnt develope. There were no room for flaws in his training and to accept anything else would be an insult to the investment and time that Mister Popo and the others of the Look-out were already putting into him. His legs were pumping up and down as the peddels rotated and the fan that was replacing were the normal wheel of a bike would have been was cooling him off. It was a relaxing feeling and the light breeze from the bike seemed to intensify the effect of relaxation as he began to slow down his peddeling motions and gradually reduce the bike's speed. It had been a busy day, but Juni hoped, as he peddeled, that he wouldnt have to recieve a cane beating and that Mister Popo would be pleased with his hard work.
After cooling down with a shower, and having changed into clean clothes, Junichiro returned to find Mister Popo lounging under a tree, reading a book. "So... you're done?" He asked the hybrid as his beady eyes looked up to Junichiro. "Umm...I think so unless.." He gulps as his sentences pauses. "Unless there is more?" He then asked timidly to Popo. The black genie smiled lightly and placed the book down. "There is more, but you will need to grow stronger before you will be able to handle it... so for now, Im going to task you to visit the Kame' house on Turtle Island and seek training there. Learn everything you can and then return to me when you feel you are ready to move on." Popo said with a serious look on his face to the young saiyan hybrid before him. "Trouble is on the horizon and Earth will need strong heroes to protect it from what evil might lurk on the horizon." He finished with a fold of his arms infront of his rotund vested body. "Hai, Mister Popo sensei! Besides... we still havent gotten to spar yet." Jun said to the genie instructor. "Oh dont worry, Junichiro... we will.. but for now... bye~." He said as he waved goodbye to Juni. It was creepy, but the young Saiyan knew it was time to move along and get a head start on learning all there was to know in the world.
After leaving Mister Popo, Junichiro flew off from the Look-out to go to Kame' House were the Turtle School was located. It was there that many famous martial artists had honed their skills and became great within the World Tournament. Mister Popo, as Juni knew, was sending him there to learn more than just the skills to compete in a competition, but he was going there to gain strength to defend Earth from attack. He couldnt help but imagine what kind of super secret techniques the Turtle School might teach him to use in an effort to grow stronger, and why exactly that Mister Popo had wanted him to go there was an even bigger mystery; Still it was in Juni's human nature to question the unknown, yet it was in his saiyan blood that he charged on boldly into that unknown with confidence in his own ability. With a look at the clouds and the feel of the breeze through his hair, Juni knew it would be an easy trip from the look-out to the turtle island as the look-out was high above everything else on the earth, making it the perfect place to launch from when taking flight and choosing a destination.
As Juni flew lower toward the ocean and in the general direction of Turtle Island, he could feel a sense of forboding like Mister Popo had described. Evil was on the horizon, and it was up to Junichiro and other fighters of justice to protect earth from that disgusting wrong that would threaten to wreck the planet. Still, another thought bugged Junichiro about how the old heroes of Earth's past once defended it with powers beyond comprehension. Would he ever get that strong? He hoped so for the planet's sake, as peace was only the stalling point were forces built up for war. As Jun saw it... that time of peace was just about over, and that evil threat could be felt in the airwaves as he finally could see the small form of the Turtle Island in the distance. He would go there and train hard for Mister Popo so that he could then match up to the heroes of ages past. "Yaaaahooo!!" He yelled in excitement before kicking off faster in a burst of energy to speed up and move in to the island. He was certainly enjoying this adventure.
