Marching Band Field Show
Glass Skin
Sa bir
Definitely percussion heavy.
Percussion: concert bass drum intro initially, and add the marching basses towards the end of the tune. the main melody could be a marimba soloist. obviously the sound effects are coming from a synth.
Winds: no notes will be played from most of you, with the exeption of the altos adding some sound effects here and there.
Visuals: this intro would be good for visuals from the marching band, something extremely creepy like northmont hs winterguard status. XD
Child Prey
Winds: The high brass and woodwinds will be playing the part where Kyo sings "Child prey", as a sort of back and forth/question and answer type deal, if that makes sense. The effect will work because of the fact that brass (for the most part) are on side 1 of the field while the WW are on side 2 (for those none marchers, side 1 would be the left side, according to the audience/judges, and side 2 would be the right.) Low brass will play the backup vocals of the song for the most part. This will switch when it gets to the part where the backups sing "rawr" (don't laugh, that's what it sounds like), and Kyo sings child prey once more, and repeat and so forth. So in other words, LB plays the "child prey", WWs play the "rawr", and HB looks pretty
During that mood change around the middle of the song, the melody falls into the hands of the WWs once more.
Percussion: intense bass drum in the beginning. when Kyo sings "kiss me deadly. kiss me kill me love me," there should be some crazy runs going on in the mallet parts. and in the "child prey" part, definitely some intense block chords (probably from the woods), and some runs in the metals. during the verses, some permutation stuff with the vibes that mimic the melody, with the woods playing some run pattern coupled with some block chords. repeat. XD the part towards the middle where the mood sort of changes can have some chord-heavy "riffing" with the vibes mimicking the melody.
Visuals: It's already pretty hectic since the tempo is VERY fast (~200). There will be a lot of rifle work, and some sabre as well. During the mood change, it'll be in half-time, so don't worry about your legs falling off or anything.
Glass Skin (Japanese Version)
Winds: Euphonium solo for main melody (And yes, the euphonium can go that high. Trust me) Chorus of the song will be the entire ensemble. Along with the mallets, the WWs & mellos will play the guitar parts. Once it gets to the part where Kyo begins singing really low, it will be a euph/bari tutti, then back to a euph solo, then the chorus will come back, and it will be one member of each section playing the chorus. It'll end with the mallets, saxes, and battery finishing the song (guitar/drum parts)
Percussion: Vibe solo for the piano part! possibly a vibe/synth duet. the mallets will probably do some sort of variation of the piano/guitar part, so that doesn't take much thinking about.
Visuals: The group will march away from the euph soloist (so leaving him behind in a sense), and keep away from him til the end. That's about it really...
Hagashisa (NOT gonna type out the full title)
Winds: The intro will be played by tenors, trombones and euphs/baris. The main melody played by HB and high WWs, most likely altos and flutes, with the tenors playing a sort of harmonic melody in the background for some umph ;D And of course the guitar parts would be played by anyone else not playing (so LB and the WW not playing) Now, when Kyo does that growl type scream, that's for the sousas. And when he screams really high, that would definitely be reserved for any screamers (for noobs: the trumpet player that plays the really high notes. Go figure) in the band.
Percussion: obviously it has to be a battery intro. as for the mallet parts. . .honestly all i can come up with as of now is some chord/permutation stuff like we (as in Savanna in real life) did in the closer for "Sacred Ground," along with a "random chaotic mallet break" when Kyo does that ******** awesome scream when the rest of diru stops playing.
Visuals: Tempo is ~140. Several parts where it will be in double time.
