O laud, how long has SE had this date up for? I just found out, YAY DQ VI FOR DS! But I was hoping that I could LP this up to spoil everything for everyone before it got released, meh, I still got two months, maybe if I actually work, I can at least get to the part where Carver HASSAN graces Botsu with his presence.

Although I don't really like the cover art, I was happier with Botsu, Mileyu and Hassan riding on a dragon..

I've become rather fond of Chamoro during the waiting period. I love his design, especially his face and hat. I haven't played the game yet, but a bratty half-pint from a secluded magical tribe sounds like fun. I'll see for myself once I get the game.

This is the first time I've heard of the release date, by the way. I'm not as in touch with the gaming community as I used to be. Sweet deals nonetheless.

Cover art seems like another victim of American Kirby is Hardcore, just like DQIX's boxart was. I liked DQIX's stateside boxart, but the DQVI boxart looks pretty cluttered and not as artistic as the Japanese one. Ah well.

I personally liked Chamoro more than Mileyu even if she has charm and joins way earlier, mainly because he was built for healing and Mileyu is sort of in between both and doesn't excel as much, although I do want to try her out as a Sage, even if she is meant to be a Superstar. You'll like the class system, it is the high point of the game, character personalities aside.

And for the NA cover, it's the purple background out of everything that turns me off of it, pretty much the only DQ/W NA cover I've ever liked more was the Dragon Warrior II cover even if the characters don't look a thing like they probably should. Dx V has the best SNES artwork in the entire series, if you haven't seen it, my lord, you must see it.

Oh man, last night I made this .gif because I was bored like that, I even screencapped it all myself too. I find it one of Hassan's fun moments, although it just isn't itself without the hardcore techno hammer song that plays while he builds the house...

That scene is awesome in 3D, by the way. Even at this point, I can see why you like Hassan so much. 4laugh

You got that far? Sadly, I haven't as I still never got past raging at the name changes (so far, I got to the dream world for the first time), but what do you think of it so far? Also, did you fight the boss/insanely strong monster on the tower when you're applying to be a knight, or did you let Hassan take care of him? The thing I loved about DQVI is the overpowered boss fights especially Mudo. <3

Every time I see the name Carver, I think of you. I feel like someone is prodding your shoulder with a dull stick. Though I like what they've done with him in this game, name change aside.

But I fought the boss myself. Nothing two sap spells and lots of healing couldn't take care of. cool
I like the difficulty curve in this game so far. It's hard without begging for too much extra grinding. Some luck and a little planning ahead. Also the graphics are beautiful. Way better than any of the other remakes. And I usually am not a big fan of sprite/polygon mix. This game does it really well, though.
Overall, I like this game a lot. It has a different atmosphere than most of the DQ games I've played, partly due to the story itself, and partly due to the music, which is quite good and a bit unusual for Sugiyama, in my opinion. The game feels a bit more sinister, due a lot to the questions left unanswered at this point, without losing DQ's levity and fun. I can't wait to play more. Time to find the good ol' Lar/Har/Ra's mirror again!
