Um, could you post a link to the original?
Not that I think you've edited it or anything, I just find it really hard to read an entire post in quote-format. sweatdrop

I was thinkign about editing the picture that abortion clinics provide to make it actuale scale. One of the lies up top said that the 6 week old fetus is only the size of a pea, so it shouldn't be that hard. there, thats about what they show you. Its almost illegible, but its usable as a refrence

Well, a 6 week old fetus can be whatever size it wants to. I don't think it exists. A human reaches the fetal stages after 8 weeks. Before that it's an embryo. Their scale's a bit wonky.

I think it's really interesting how many of the clinic-workers agree that the fetus is a living human, but just think that it is a necessary work. In a way, I can respect that. I mean, it's the same process of thought that the ancients used to justify human sacrifice; It's necessary. If we don't do it, the crops will wither. Life will be worse.
If we don't do it, we won't have enough money to take care of the rest of the family as well as the new baby. Life will be worse.

If society would put forth a little efort, we wouldn't need to make them think that way.

Pyrotechnic Oracle If society would put forth a little efort, we wouldn't need to make them think that way. The problem is, "Society" is too big. It has too much inertia; It's not going to move on it's own. Large numbers of the individuals that make up "Society" have to move to start the rest of it moving. So, really, we've got to get them to stop thinking that way so that Society will stop thinking that way.

That whole thing just made me so sad. The first set of quotes just made me want to cry.
And the second group- well, I wouldn't have such a hard time with the pro-choice stance if they were truly pro-choice. No one can make a decision unless they are fully informed, even if being fully informed means learning things they don't want to know.

It really is interesting, isn't it...I really do respect that you can respect someone with views different from you, that's pretty rare today. But one of the problems with the view that 'it's necessary' is that abortions are expensive - so a family could actually save money by simply putting the child up for adoption. After all, over a million families are waiting to adopt. (And let's leave out the entire debate about the impact on the mother...)

The really distrubing thing about all of this is the fact that pro-choicers say things like "well those aren't true quotes" or "that's all just one person" because they can't fathom that people can actually feel this way.
