"Lucrial," he said as he got closer to her. "We can stick to the shadows a little more, that way your coat doesn't stand out quit so much." There was no way he would let her go on her own.
"Good idea. We will have to wait a long time before saying that name, if we ever do." He nudged her with his nose, "Thank you for kicking me into leaving now. I probably wouldn't have if I waited another day." His tail low to the ground as he fled with her, away from the grip of the Alchemist.

Serat knew he was right, and stayed closer to the forest. He coat was bright, and the alchemist could see things...things even in the dark. She shivered at the thought of him. How could she think of doing this? "I am glad you have come with me Lucrial, it is very brave, I don't know how I thought of doing this on my own." she confessed to him. It would be sunrise in a couple hours. "If we hurry we can make it past the boundaries before the sun rises...it will be harder for him to track us." She picked up her speed staying close to him to shield her colors from any unseen eyes.

He nodded in agreement. There were times he noticed that himself. Lucrial ran next to her and moved a little closer when she shivered. "It will be alright. We have a good plan." He gave one last, quick glance over his shoulder to watch the place he lived for most of his life. It felt right leaving and he was happy that it was with great company. Turning back to the way in front of them, the male kept pace with Serat as they worked towards the boundaries.

There was a pink hoizon line ahead of them, slowing pushing the black and stars out of the night sky. "Sunrise, Serat whispered, and we are almost near the boundaries. She felt a bit of relief; but the pink sky made her unsure of what was to come. Lucrial, what do you want to do once you are free? She looked deeply into his eyes.

He flicked an ear in Serat's direction as she mention sunrise. The sky was getting brighter and there was some extra scurrying noises from the rodents that lived in the area. The boundaries so close at paw, he didn't know what to think.
"I never really thought of beyond getting away, Serat." He looked in her eyes and there was a slight spark of a feeling that he didn't know about. "What are your plans?"

She looked at him with a twinkling in her eyes. "Freedom" she nodded towards the rising sun. "To go and do whatever we want, to start something new, something beyond the confines of the alchemist." She looked at him. He was strong, and handsome. She was lucky to have a companion that was also nice to look at. How could she have feelings like this for someone she barely knew? She shook her head and tried to get back into reality. Love was beyond reality and not something she should be thinking of as they were still in danger of being caught. The thought was nice though. "What are your plans Lucrial? Are you going off somewhere too? I always wanted to go see the big mountain." she nodded to her right. "I think I'll head that way first," she smiled, "You are welcome to come."

He looked to the right, the big mountain looming in the morning light. He felt a pull in that direction, or maybe it was something closer that was pulling him. He glanced down at Serat, so brave and daring. Was it right to be thinking of having a family with her at a time like this? Lucrial shakes his head, now was not the time.
"If you really don't mind, I would like to journey with you for a while. I have no plans except to be free." He smiled, "Besides, it would be good to have company in case the pull of the Alchemist hit us."

Serat smiled and laughed. She closed her mouth fast when was the last time she had laughed? She couldn't even remember; maybe as a pup? With her mother perhaps. She looked at the mountain. "Well on we go then, it is smart to stay together in case the alchemist does find us." She shivered at the thought and hoped that day would not happen. "Want to race?" she winked at him. She had offered out of fun, but also out of fear that they still were not far enough away from their past.
